A day-long celebration of Australian music, inspired and impaired by the bloody bottle.
Feelin’ frisky with a whiskey and over a beer last year, “Wash Winter’s Willies Away With Whiskey” brought together 11 bands from Melbourne and beyond for a day-long extravaganza of Australian music that revelled in it’s inebriation and worshipped at the altar of the demon-drink. Let’s face it – we really are all just a pack of drunken-convict-sailors! And everyone had so much fun that it’s on again at the Tote on Sunday 30th July. This year there’s 13 bands, two stages, maybe a barbie, probably a singalong or three, and definitely more fun! This will surely be an event not to be missed! A compilation CD of all bands will be available as giveaways on the day to the first 80 payers. It’s freezing, everyone’s crook – might as well head to the Tote on Sunday 30th July and wash winter’s willies away with whiskey…

once i had an employer who after the occasion of a romantic merger with a damsel he'd assumed to be derelict in personal hygene would immerse his cock inside a glass (half full, presumably) of whisky. i don't know what he did with the beverage afterwards, but he nearly always rejected fire water for its conventional use.
That is an interesting anecdote... whiskey is very antiseptic... cures what ails me every time...

Just Announced! ''Wash Winter's Willies Away With Whiskey'', Sunday 29th July
In the spirit of all things merry, and in the midst of the freezing winter chills, Clinkerfield host their third annual ''Wash Winter's Willies Away With Whiskey'' mini festival (a day long celebration of great Australian music, inspired and impaired by the bottle) on Sunday 29th July at The Tote Hotel. For the past two years this event has showcased some of the best of Melbourne and Australia's independent, underground scene... underground mostly for the fact they never seem to be able to get themselves off the ground due to being too pissed. And that, my friends, is why they're here in glorious display! Just look at em... Silver City Highway, The Great Apes, The Violent Mood Swings, The Idle Hoes, Kim Volkman, Jordie Lane, Gareth Eunson & The Graveyard Sons, a double assault from Brisvegas with The Gin Club and Halfway, and, of course, crawling along behind them all, Clinkerfield. A compilation CD featuring one song from each of the acts will be available on the day.
Nice line up! Wish I could get down there for that one!
