i bought a pair of shoes are a tiny bit too small on one foot (erm... i have long toes.) i'm thinking of trying the ziplocked-waterbag-in-the-toe-of-the-shoe-and-chuck-it-in-the-freezer trick.

according to google, it's generally quite successful for a stretch up to a half size bigger. so long as they're not left in for any longer than it takes for the water to freeze.

reebok pumps and nike air flights. the type they wore in white men cant jump.

woolfat - some places (like the wonderful shoe repairer dudes on the main drag of errol st, north melbs) have shoe stretchers - you take your shoes in, and they stretch 'em to the size that you want. scary stuff to be sure (what if they overstretch?) but maybe worth a try, or a phonecall to see if its for you?

I think i'm becoming obsessed with Alden shoes. Got a discounted pair of their boots late last year and they're incredible in comfort and quality. Can't see them lasting any less than 10 years. Pity they're minimum $450 a pair at retail and not sold anywhere in Australia or i'd attempt a collection.
