What are your thoughts on the guy? Personally i love him, great versatile songwriter, and social commentator. At a time when people were being little oiks to try and fight the government he did it with a suit, a cappuccino and some soulful pop.
great in the Jam too
great folk artist too. If you don't believe me listen to 'Days of Speed' his live acoustic album.

you're joking, right?

scallywag  said about 5 years ago:

joking about what - weller voting tory?

don't be surprised, so did lennon

Reverb  said about 5 years ago:

after all those years of campaigning against maggie??? It just doesn't make sense

scallywag  said about 5 years ago:

plenty of liberal voters are vocal critics of john howard's policies

Reverb  said about 5 years ago:

true. Just don't seem right for an outspoken socialist to vote tory...

scallywag  said about 5 years ago:

nah, he told the kids to "vote tory" in the early days but maintains he was only having a lark.

Reverb  said about 5 years ago:

wiki doesn't have anything to say about his politics except this:

He once got thrown out of a nightclub for smashing a glass in the face of Sid Vicious

he has now been elevated to demi-god status in my eyes

Reverb  said about 5 years ago:

more love

Timmmay  said about 5 years ago:

The Jam are reforming and he isnt joining them apparently

LoadMyRig  said about 5 years ago:

there seems very little point in that....

number none  said about 5 years ago:

how is that even possible?

Reverb  said about 5 years ago:

Quote:
Paul Weller is absent from a reunion of The Jam.

Bassist and drummer Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler are set to undertake the first UK tour under the name "The Jam" in May.

It will be the first time any configuration of the group has toured for 25 years. The band, who also feature vocalist Russell Hastings and guitarist/keyboardist David Moore, are also planning to follow the tour with the release of new material.

Speaking about the absence of Weller, drummer Rick Buckley said: "Paul Weller has a fantastic solo careers and is one of the UK's most talented songwriters. Paul is always welcome to join us for the reunions, but until then, we've got a new tour and a new album to do."

The tour, which begins on May 2, will mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the band's seminal album 'In The City', which was released on April 29, 1977.

Beaurocracy at its best!
