Stevie Plunder

Awww, this sounds great...
Various Artists - PLUNDER the songs of STEVIE PLUNDER
This won't until the second half of 2007, so you'll have to be patient. Half A Cow will be spending the next few months rounding up some very special friends and fans of the late Stevie Plunder - all doing their own versions of the classics from his songbook.
Would be keen to hear this. Spent many a night strumming Plunderers "End of Your World" or "Lester Walker" or "Last Time", damn I know Stevie did it but can't remember which band...

I recall fondly the Gruesome Twosome ploughing the whole way through the second side of Abbey Road without a hiccup.

very cool!

On the cards so far - Louis Tillett doing End Of Your World and Crow (!) doing You Don't Even Know My Name, as well as the inevitable Freedman and various Hayes brothers.
Shaping up to be a good one.

This should still be on the front page.....

I'm not quite sure what Stevie was doing in that last pic, and I don't really wanna know!

Your pic's pretty ace too, number none! I thought that was out in the old Sando beer garden until I saw the caption.

I missed this 3 months ago. Would be very interested to hear it all!

bernie hayes had us near tears at the rose the other week when he mentioned an old bloke had come up the week before and asked him when the gruesome twosome's next gig was....

he then played 'you dont even know my name' and the whole bar sighed....

daveyaviator  said about 1 year ago:

must get back to the rose soon for bernie...been too long between drinks

Bernie's new album is due out next month sometime. It's a corker!

and I've heard no more news on the Plunder album, except that Geoff Milne (Plundees drummer) may be doing something for this. Dunno whether I'm gonna be able to get my shiz together to do anything. The BHQ were supposed to do something, but I've heard nothing further about that....

i wanna take you home but i know

that it's impractical

i can't dismantle you

and set you up near the phone

thenewmeatloaf  said 36 days ago:

just finished it, driza? I've had a copy for ages, courtesy of glebey. what the hell were youse doin', building a glockenspiel out of empty flagons?

I've decided I'm gonna do Following My Own Tracks in Darren Hanlon style, on banjo, mandolin and autoharp - not a guitar to be seen!

driza d  said 35 days ago:

nice one

yeh, it took us 11 months to get the ultimate take of a beer bottle rolling out of Nana's drunken hand as he passed out grinning!
