I tried to like her. But I failed.
sexist
I thought it might be something that I would be into.
But I really dislike her style.
I was waiting for a friend in Polyester recently and I was in there for a while, long enough to hear half the album... and I had to go and stand outside.
I haven't heard her, but I like Adam Green.
that track "The Beer" is rather good. - the last adam green album I heard I hated. - it seemed to have none of that naive charm of the moldy peaches
two older records have been reissued to cash in on the Juno popularity
oops....they're a little big. sorry about that.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !!
Wasn't that bunny head used by Moldy Peaches?
i bought the album, since mr shines thought we would like it, and i liked the song i like giants. but it just didn't grab me. i think it is a bit whingey or something. i don't know. one of my few blind album buys that i have regretted.

POPFRENZY, YEN MAG & TRIPLE J PRESENTS
KIMYA DAWSON
AUSTRALIAN TOUR JUNE '08
(tickets on sale Tuesday April 1)
Honest to blog Kimya Dawson will change your life.
If you've seen the film Juno and cuted-out to the Kimya-provided soundtrack then the opportunity to see her live will have you screaming ''Phuket, Thailand!'' (thats a direct quote, not a cue to get on out of here). If you've loved her since her days doing indiecore duets with Adam Green in The Moldy Peaches then you'll have been waiting for this
announcement since the early noughties and are going to kick it old school, and if Remember That I Love You was your entrance point to Kimya Dawson then you'll be riding your bike like lightning to go buy tickets for yourself, your Mum, and one for the biggest person you know -- because you like giants too!
Crafting unforgettable songs Kimya's personal adaptations are delivered through the most affecting lyrics - all in a lo-fi casing, which gives her very little to hide behind. Kimya Dawson is Kimya Dawson: open, afraid, bewildered, flawed, and incredible. In fact, she embraces wearing it all on her sleeve. Come June, she'll be wearing it on her sweater sleeve, as she readies herself for her first Australian tour this winter.
Having played shows with The Mountain Goats, Regina Spektor, Daniel Johnston and Calvin Johnson Kimya's appeal goes from indie idol to anti-folk hero, and has praise being heaped on her from all corners of the universe. And rightly so -- her homespun, musical approach to delivering personal wisdoms and universal ideas ain't preachy, they're just honest.
On record it feels like she's right there, whispering those wisdoms into your ear, and getting ready to cry/laugh/love right there beside you. Imagine if she were actually there, right beside you? Better still, see her live and watch her change the world, one chord, one lyric, one song at a time.

Remember That I Love You is out now on Popfrenzy Records.
i reckon this will be pretty cool.
i'd like to go to this, but it could fall in the too hard basket
and fastcanoe - kimya is one half of the moldy peaches, so the bunny head = probably
you should consider it though, as i could help you with the too hard basket if yr up for it
Uniting Church Hall is baby friendly!
awww
i might do that rach :)
and hi switchy x
i like her a lot...last week teenage boy buskers singing the beer made me very happy..
joy to long convaluted wicked songs about getting smashed.
hi cracksy! gotta pm you soon.. soon!
Don't talk about it, just do it!
aka SHOULDA BEEN A PM.

could be interesting but i'm saving my cash for Adam Green
Ahh, so I see, all makes sense :]
Tickets on sale now!
Sydney, Brisbane and second Melbourne show are close to selling out so you better hurry!
Wow, it really doesn't need to say ''Juno Soundtrack'' on the poster. Or at least it doesn't need to say it before it says The Moldy Peaches.
both shows sold out yo.
kimya is playing a free instore at Polyester Records (City store, Flinders lane) on Wednesday June 18 at 3pm. come if you can!
Shit, didn't realize I needed tickets for this. I figured it was an 'at the door' kinda thing.
And yeah, Ackroyd, that seemed real unnecisary to me, too. It shouldn't even say Moldy Peaches, I wouldn't think.
Stupid Popfrenzy. Stupid Juno. Stupid churchies.
And I love how they're plugging her ''latest'' album now.
I've had that shit on K for like 3 years now. phux.
She sucks complete arse, Juno soundtrack or no.
hahaha, the churchies have no idea dude!
Hehehe
haha.
i can't understand how this of all music has become so mainstream. although i guess i'm glad it's something i don't like.
it's a pretty accessible record.. comes as no surprise to me.
now I hope Adrian Orange blows up big!!!
Anyone been to a gig at the Northcote Uniting Church Hall before?
Reckon you could sneak in, easy?
My lady really wants to go to this, and until right now we had no idea about tix.
nope, you can't sneak in easy.
i'm working the door!
popfrenzy recalled your awesome efforts from last time skip! you are the door queen.
not the 'Queen (Door) Bitch' though :P
Oh shit! Haha.
s'alright, WK. I forgive you.
I'm looking foward to it, Switchy. Lib will most likely accompany me on the Tuesday, if not it will be Mickey. Dan will help on Wednesday. He's good at maths... and stuff. Hope this is okay?
cool cool :)
my friend is the support at the manning bar gig! it'd be awesome if people going could check her out...
heres her myspace:
www.myspace.com/andthentobed
All ages show tonight at The Factory.
Anyone need a ticket?
I thought the gig was ace, Kimya was on great form, though the floor was a bit hard. And yes skiptracer, you were an ACE door person. I never thought a ticket bought through Moshtix could so easily become having your name ticked off on a list. Lovely.
your friend ''and then to bed'' was very good supporting holly throsby last weekend. still don't like the clunky name though
she warbles like a snotty american kid. i cant hack that shit.
thanks tinyman! i'll tell her you said so! and mom_jeans she was pretty nervous, so maybe thats where you're getting the 'warble' thing from, but each to there own.
