is it on slsk yet fasty?

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

I actually haven't loaded up slsk on this new machine of mine yet due to a need to change operating systems over the coming weeks.. might have to though.. the previous was leaked a considerable time prior.

candide  said about 5 years ago:

Whitehouse albums are never leaked. William always keeps a super tight grip on them. He records them and releases them - they do not change hands at any stage, so no chance of leaking. the last one (i do believe) was not leaked at all. 2 tracks were played on scottish radio as a part of an interview but the tracks themselves were removed when interview was placed on line! SO very Whitehouse. The new one will be interesting no doubt. It has been many years since they released 2 records so close to each other. I watched the video of them live at the powerhouse in brisbane last night - funny shit! And YES the vinyl re-issue announcement is the best gift they could give us, especially as they are starting with Cruise which is pretty much THE masterpiece of this current (ie: 'later' period) - an essential record for all noise nuts, bush beef , slayer slappers, chefs and general turdburgers of planet earth.

SGH  said about 5 years ago:

: (

I was going to try and not buy so much music this year. This doesn't bode well.

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

Strange stuff Candide, I found a copy of Asceticists at least three weeks before it was released.. sure it was at 128k, but it was there and floated around slsk quite happily. Indeed, the new release shall be intriguing, am hoping they stick with the current path and pursuits as it's ripening quite well. I have that same video.. just no vhs player unfortunately..have watched it a few times at friends houses, was nice to relive the powerhouse show, though the Corner gig was much more enjoyable. Must get around to purchasing a few more live shows off them. Agreed on the Cruise starting point, though Bird Seed is possibly the better choice lyrically.

candide  said about 5 years ago:

Dr Canoe - I stand corrected. i remember trying but could not locate anywhere. Was figuring William was being the good strident tyrant he often can be. Yeah gig at the Corner was way better than brissie. Powerhouse is really stupid for gigs of this nature. Still i would have prefered to see them in either the kevin tompkins grey trenchcoat nazi phase or the black aggresive masculine sotos phase rather then the pink shirt chanel homoerotic phase we got out here. But them's the breaks! Cruise is the master, bird seed's a photocopy. Tho 'wriggle' is the best noise pop song ever!!

mud  said about 5 years ago:

i was at that powerhouse gig, though i'd never heard of the band and had no idea what i was getting myself into. golly.

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

Yah, the Powerhouse was annoying in a whole range of ways.. though I've seen some grand performances there over the years, that festival wasn't one of them. You didn't happen to shoot that video did you? Always wondered who it was.. maybe it was LLoyd from 4zzz. HAha, indeed I would have enjoyed more of the trenchcoat door locking in the school hall phase.. or at least some Sotos action.. such is the crumble I guess. Personally I find Bird Seed to be a nice post development from cruise, like adding sepia in the darkroom or something..

candide  said about 5 years ago:

lance (think the dude associated with trash video) gave me a copy of the concert on vhs the day after the concert (!) - erm thanks lance!!! ..... yeah birdseed is killer! who am i to quibble. looking for to new britian on wax - that's the fierce bombdazzler!

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

Ahh Lance, haha, and then he was inspired to make The Ducks from what I can gather. I wonder if they are going to attempt a reissue of Psychopathia Sexualis.. seeing as the masters were lost and all.

bees're bees  said about 5 years ago:

I love Candide (the book).

candide  said about 5 years ago:

no both right to kill and psycopathia are the same as always - never to be released. one due to lost masters - one due to high leve of sheer brutality - ha! i always loved this take on not releasing right to kill. i have right.... it's pretty crappy actually.

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

Can't say I've ever listened to Right to Kill.. probably should at some point. Psychopathia Sexualis on the other hand I quite enjoyed, the live concert thingo is interesting.

candide  said about 5 years ago:

which live thingo? loads of boots on vinyl exist. they did tokyo haologen as an official live cd but i have yet to hear this....

In Finland  said about 5 years ago:

I want another tour. I was uninformed when they played the powerhouse, totally fucked with my head. Though it didn't hold a candle to Haino Keiji.

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

The Live Action 4 track, 4th performance I'm led to believe.

Haino was interesting enough.. would of been better if he'd done a hurdy gurdy set though. Oren had some 'nice' things to say about him in a few interviews..

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

A friend and I were thinking about how much it would cost to bring them out again.. I think it could be done for a reasonable amount, depending if they need guarantees etc and how much they would be. Two dudes and with minimal gear these days..

questionmark  said about 5 years ago:

that's the same reasoning with bringing suicide out, although you'd have more chance getting vega or rev on their own at the moment.

the powerhouse show was great. I thought the whole industrial theatre/massive stage/audience separation gave it a real teutonic vibe. I wonder what they would be like in a 'normal' venue.

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

I'd be very happy with a vega tour. I think Whitehouse is very dooable, I'm just not sure how they are with such ideas.. I should find the channels and make a proposition.

That's about the general concept of why I found the Powerhouse to be horrible, especially for these guys, I felt distanced and removed. The Corner on the other hand was shweet, close up and idiotic.

I actually already have an instrumental version from the 12'' single, this is apparently different. I say we load the stylus up in the panel van and do it street style.

Due in July be the latest.

OK, you probably wont appreciate this fully unless you are both a whitehouse fan and have heard the mel gibson insane phone call tapes.

recently myself and SGH discovered that if you mash up whitehouse with eliane radigue it gets quite a deal more intense. recommended.

Ah good news. Received notification it is on its way this morning.

Cut Hands record is fucking ace so far. Could probably do with a yell or two from WB but.

Heinrich  said about 12 months ago:

Yeah, I love the album and am surprised he had it him, but some vox over it could have changed the game entirely.

Fucking looking forward to the live Cut Hands show tonight. The record is great, a nice progression from 'Racket'. Wonder how it will translate to stage...

labrish  said about 2 months ago:

How did I manage to avoid Racket until now?

What sort of sex was it?
Cherry ripe novelty or
Something miserable, insignificant
Faded, crushed and old
Like the jilted roadside blonde
Croaking the song
Dear fucking Diary
Today I learned
Actresses get slapped
Actresses get raped
Get the fuck over it
