without a trace of irony, i'm really enjoying the use your illusion albums right now. i've not listened to them in a while.

let the lynching begin.

tilljames  said about 8 years ago:

appetite for destruction - what an album.

le_disco  said about 8 years ago:

lynching? absolutely no way. much respect for gunners.

PaulsGrandfather  said about 8 years ago:

Sweet Child O Mine is a brilliant driving-to-Meredith song.

aquatic  said about 8 years ago:

20 million went into making the new album.

dont quote me here but it could be out late march 07

rosiefantail  said about 8 years ago:

don't get bradmurray started....

cheezel  said about 8 years ago:

aquatic-he fugured they'd already have it.

aquatic  said about 8 years ago:

apparently for the last 10 years all axls been doing is waking up around noon, drives to the studio sometimes without a single idea of what he was going to do, get home, work out, go to bed and start all over again..... sounds depressing

hiponion  said about 8 years ago:

that's what he was doing beforehand, though, people were just recording it

versionsporadic  said about 8 years ago:

>work out

i don't think so. have you not seen any recent photos of mr sausage face? he must spent a fair amount of time (and money) having someone fuck about with his plugs.

aquatic  said about 8 years ago:

anyone who hears it has to sign an agreement not to talk about it outside the studio.

although sebastian bach was asked about it recently in an interview and he said "In one word.... GRAND!"

versionsporadic  said about 8 years ago:

and why would you trust that cunt;s opinion?

adamdmills  said about 8 years ago:

i can't believe i remember every lyric to every song.....

it's fuckin awesome!

cheezel  said about 8 years ago:

he works out? last time i saw him he looked like a fat washed out cunt!?!

tilljames  said about 8 years ago:

sebastian bach is the greatest thing to happen to music eva.
skid row self titled - what an album...

fastcanoe  said about 8 years ago:

If they ever have a proper reunion, with, I'd probably settle for 3/5 of the original line up, as long as its Axl, Slash and Duff, I'd go to that.

Pan Amateur  said 29 days ago:

Izzy and Duff have both toured with Axl and the NuGuns, it is really Axl and Slash that need to bury the hatchet. It will happen when Axl runs out of money producing shit albums that are never released. Is Steve Adler capable of still holding a drum stick?

spaceman1  said 29 days ago:

pains me to say i nearly don't care about this band anymore.

anyway...don't get how anyone could hold a grudge against slash or vice versa. seems like the most relaxed, reasonable guy on the planet.

Pan Amateur  said 29 days ago:

Axl was pissed at Slash for working with Michael Jackson during the pedo allegation era, and Axl may have been fiddled as a kid so thought Slash betrayed him....true story, google it, Axl is proper mental.

zombo  said 29 days ago:

my preferred Guns N Roses bio goes like this: band mysteriously appears. does ''Appetite For Destruction''. mysteriously vanishes.

Pan Amateur  said 29 days ago:

Out of all the paths the band could have taken, they chose the My World route...

I read that recently. God, what a moron. So he holds a grudge towards anyone that's ever set foot in a church then? Proper mental.

I'm sure I've said in this thread before, I just wish Chinese Democracy had been released as a solo album and the Guns N Roses name had been left behind when all of the original members had left, apart from Axl. It's not like no one had heard of the name of the singer from Guns N Roses. The dude is pretty fucking famous in his own right and is certainly able to pull off a solo album and tour all these years, without cheapening the band name.

True. If he came back in 2002 which he started to do with the Buckethard NIN inspired music as W.A(xl).R(ose) or something I reckon he could have done much better and had some credibility. Noone is fooled by the casino act that GNR is now expect South Americans as that is where they always tour.

Come on that's true. UYI suffered from way too much filler but could have easily been condensed into one really strong album. Maybe throw in patience and something else from Lies. Still wouldn't quite Appetite strong, but not far off. In my opinion.

Certainly would have left the legacy more intact had they finished it like that.

spaceman1  said 29 days ago:

But whatever, I'm more of a Buckethead era fan myself.

spaceman1  said 29 days ago:

''Come on that's not* true.''

TheBigShip  said 29 days ago:

UYI has way too many mid tempo dirges that go for way too long. it would've mate a great EP, but stretching it out to 130 odd minutes was a tiny bit over the top in my opinion. way too much Axl

Pan Amateur  said 29 days ago:

There's always Spaghetti Incident to remind you how crap they became with part of the orignal line up intact. Civil War is the last true GNR song, they managed to get Adler on that one.

Pan Amateur  said 29 days ago:

Don't Cry and You Could Be Mine were recorded by left off Appetite. All their good songs (Appetite, Patience, Civil War) were written before or while they were becoming massive. All those 10 minute bloated epics were written after fame. spaceman1 is right in saying they had another album as good as Appetite in them but they became to big to fast.

books  said 29 days ago:

I really dig Spaghetti Incident, they're having fun and it seems to come from somewhere genuine in terms of their love of the material, at least as much as that is possible when you're an arena rock band with a blank chequebook for studio time

books  said 29 days ago:

plus it turned me onto Rocket from the Crypt even if I didn't know it at the time (and wouldn't for another 10 years or so)

books  said 29 days ago:

Tombs! Rocket from the Tombs!

Pan Amateur  said 29 days ago:

A lot of Spaghetti Incident was done during UYI sessions and was going to be released when UYI was going to be a 4 album box set. When they finished it up they actually removed Izzys guitars and got Gilby to replay his parts. Bloated rock n roll excess. I can't believe this corpse is still kicking. Endlessly fascinating.

November Rain was demoed during the Appetite sessions.

Also, Back off Bitch, The Garden, Bad Obsession & Yesterdays.
