new album is out and about. first 4 tracks are really good. 5th throws me and i never quite recover for the rest of the album.

but seriously, wakiki ran its course, never quite living up to the hopes, and now it seems as howling bells they've done the same. which is a bit of a shame.

the indie coolsie fuckheads haven't bothered them whilst they go about their business of actually becoming popular.

it wasn't really getting flogged to death on UK radio though.
They got a B-list on 6Music I think, and no playlist action on Radio 1, Radio 2 or XFM, so it's a bit of an overstatement.
They've got strong management behind them now though, so things might happen for them.

If they'd had better live sound at their gigs, like the big Astoria show with The Duke Spirit, they might have done better

i'm trying to think of a 'pretty' front-woman for a UK band. normally in the UK, chicks that sing are either bubbly (girls aloud) or feral (justine, pearl, etc)

the girl from the long blondes is quite pretty isn't she? then there's the likes of duffy, amy macdonald, etc.
