Isn't that the purpose of a music-oriented forum?

Or we can get back to talking about musically-irrelevant stuff.....meh

jim  said about 2 years ago:

hey Vol,

Yeah, maybe that is the purpose.

I was pointing out that this already exists. And rather than say "SEARCH YOU FUCKING CUNT ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" I thought I'd try and see into the future and be special, like whoopi goldberg in ghost

Sorry.

LoadMyRig  said about 2 years ago:

I liked the tune of theirs that Triple J played this morning. Made me take notice.

twisterella  said about 2 years ago:

Other thread's been zapped now.
So if a user is banned, even innocuous threads go?

Great band. 'Setting Sun' is a really fantastic song.

whatwhat  said 16 days ago:

new album is out and about. first 4 tracks are really good. 5th throws me and i never quite recover for the rest of the album.

andyr  said 16 days ago:

looking forward to hearing it. i really liked the first one. wasn't a fan of waikiki.

shaun  said 16 days ago:

These guys were ubiquitous in London circa late '06 / early '07. do they ever come back?

montyclift  said 16 days ago:

want to like them. somehow can't.

andyr  said 16 days ago:

do they ever come back?

rarely.

montyclift  said 16 days ago:

maybe they should just change their name.

again.

andyr  said 16 days ago:

you don't like them just on the name?

montyclift  said 16 days ago:

yeah, juanita just sounds too foreign.

but seriously, wakiki ran its course, never quite living up to the hopes, and now it seems as howling bells they've done the same. which is a bit of a shame.

and if you've ever seen them live, you'll know where at least some of the problem lay.

HEB said 25 days ago: They're giving away that new single that's getting flogged to death on UK radio...

montyclift  said 16 days ago:

and the result so far has been?

charlesincharge  said 16 days ago:

the indie coolsie fuckheads haven't bothered them whilst they go about their business of actually becoming popular.

Cooperative Music  said 15 days ago:

it wasn't really getting flogged to death on UK radio though.
They got a B-list on 6Music I think, and no playlist action on Radio 1, Radio 2 or XFM, so it's a bit of an overstatement.
They've got strong management behind them now though, so things might happen for them.

HEB  said 15 days ago:

Yeah right
I listen to BBC 6Music and heard it every three hours or so
That's a hell of a lot

Radio 2 wouldn't playlist something like that, and it's too 'old' for Radio 1

If they'd had better live sound at their gigs, like the big Astoria show with The Duke Spirit, they might have done better

charlesincharge  said 15 days ago:

i'm trying to think of a 'pretty' front-woman for a UK band. normally in the UK, chicks that sing are either bubbly (girls aloud) or feral (justine, pearl, etc)

whatwhat  said 15 days ago:

the girl from the long blondes is quite pretty isn't she? then there's the likes of duffy, amy macdonald, etc.

none of em hold a candle to kikisun tho.

HEB  said 11 days ago:

The album Radio Wars is now out there...

Track Listing
01 Treasure Hunt
02 Cities Burning Down
03 It Ain't You
04 Nightingale
05 Let's Be Kids
06 Ms. Bell's Song (Radio Wars Theme)
07 Golden Web
08 Into The Chaos
09 Digital Hearts
10 How Long

After three years spent with the independent record label, Bella Union, Howling Bells have just signed with Independiente Records, via which “Radio Wars” will be released on February 9th 2009, if all goes as planned...

Has the first LP been deleted in the UK?

whatwhat  said 11 days ago:

not feeling it. hate track 5.

tinyman  said 11 days ago:

hmm, not impressed, if that's the cover art. and we all know that's like the most important thing. who cares what it sounds like!

grogblog  said 11 days ago:

Music as a vessel for fame is transparent as water. This shit is soulless business rock.
