Track 1 - all-time aussie gem
Still love the first EPs.
*rock out*
:D
Has anyone seen them live lately - reports?
not in about 8 years
Have they still got that silly keytar player?
no
been playing in other things. ely with jump 2 light speed, quan doing blox with the mighty motherfuckin' SPOD.
gurge at gaelic in sydney, feb 23...
they are good cunce.
Nup.
On an marginally related note, the only thing given to me by my first ever crush (ten years ago or something) was a promo sticker for a Gurge gig. I've still got it. I'm still waiting for something to stick it on.
SHAUN was the keytar player. He drunkenly signed my 'Gurge t-shirt after they performed various 'Unit' ditties live on Recovery.
Good times.
touring in feburary according to streetpress.
track 1 and FSO are still mighty tracks.. havnt seen these guys live since about 99 at my uni bar... they were awesome.
Was talking about them recently, thinking while it would be hard to imagine mid-90's JJJ without them, does anyone still care about them? (apart from SPOD and clem, that is)
they ARE good cunce.
found myself in a conversation at the hopetoun with quon without ever having met him before. a very charming and smart man.
regurgitator cannot be killed by conventional weapons.
(not that i want them to.)
I liked their new stuff better than their old stuff.
Eduardo + Rodriguez was good stuff. I liked how they pretty much changed style every album and nearly always got it right.
(unlike Radiohead who took two albums to realize it wasn't working)
Still love the first EPs.
SAME - those EPs coloured an entire 5 yr period of my tweens.
What happened??!! After tu plang I tuned out -- it all sounded ghey to me. Does it stand up to scrutiny, all that electro stuff? Be real with me, dudes...
they were too far ahead of their time when it came to ghey elecro, it turns out
Is anyone spreading Gurge love heading to the Espy on Satdee night for Blox?
They went Rap+Metal for an album. <shudders>

Surprised no-one's mentioned that they're performing a live score for screenings of Akira at the Opera House. I'm going, sounds awesome.
Oh man... How many early birthday presents can I rake in to attend this. Looks fucking ace.
fucking dead ass, cold filtered monkey piss elevator music
spew
that DOES sound amazing
Can't remember if I mentioned it in the fold, but the Regurgitator/contemporary dancers 'Rock Show' thingo in Brisbane last year was actually fucking excellent. Hadn't really been into the band for quite a while, and I'm generally no fan of contemporary dance... but it was one of the best things I saw last year. Really intense, confronting, and risky.
The live score for Akira was on yesterday afternoon - it was pretty cool. Some big doomy soundtrack stuff that reminded me (in a good way) of the Fantomas ''Directors Cut'' album. Some nice colourings and instrumentation here and there as well which really complemented the film, and some of the stuff had to be synced in perfectly with scenes, which they did really professionally i thought...
Props to em for attempting this - to be honest i'd lost interest in this band a while ago, but this proves they've still got a fair bit to offer.
the akira live score was great, lotta fun. they're awesome at reminding you just how good they are.
just listened to the broken head's first (only?) album. man that's some good shit right there.

Last track on the new album sounds a bit Stephin Merritt-ish, which I didn't see coming.
Quite enjoying the new album - and I finally got to see them play on Wednesday night. Bloody great set and a load of fun.
Appreciated.
New album seems to be hit and miss for me. Though the misses are growing on me a bit. Can't wait to see them on Sunday.
Punk Mum is definitely a highlight for me, came across fantastically live.
yeh punk mum was a ripsnorter live; the album is somewhat poorer for not having pete play on it.
punk mum is so rad.
on another note entirely, listened to pangaea's freibentos for the first time in yaggers today. good record!
they never did do anything else, did they?
What's the go with Happyland? Why did they stop writing stuff together
They were dating and broke up.
NYE at the Corner
might go, doesn't seem much else on of note
tonight! should be a great night!
