tempted to.

HEB  said about 5 years ago:

Found some reasonably priced apartments in Barcelona then, but they're for more than one person

ProDelgado  said about 5 years ago:

What sort of price?

HEB  said about 5 years ago:

Depends on the number of people.
Btween £18 and £28 a night for two-four people

ProDelgado  said about 5 years ago:

Hmm, that is very reasonable indeed.

Gonna be very tempting, this.

HEB  said about 5 years ago:

Flights on EasyJet are about £110 for Wednesday to Sunday
Opodo for £89
Expedia has flights and rooms for those dates for £250

MELVINS PERFORM HOUDINI
The latest confirmation on the ATP-curated portion of our festival is here. American band Melvins, one of the main influences for the nineties underground rock scene, will visit Estrella Damm Primavera Sound 2007 to perform exclusively their album "Houdini", for many considered the highest point of their career.

ghostofbarry  said about 5 years ago:

Pretty sure I'm gonna go, probably to ATP vs the fans as well

HEB  said about 5 years ago:

williammiller  said about 5 years ago:

If Simon and Garfunkel do Bridge Over Troubled Water I will go

ShitBonanza  said about 5 years ago:

the melvins were amazing at atp, they didnt do houdini though they just played whatever they wanted (for a very long time!). so it would definately be worth seeing

endtroducing...  said about 5 years ago:

3 days is much more like it for me. I want to go so bad as Godflesh is probably my all time favorite band. Alas I am going to ATP the week before and can't justify both events.

Kez  said about 2 months ago:

YES YOU CAN! That would be the two awesomest festivals in the world (without a time machine) back-to-back!
Plus Barcelona rocks! (Particularly if you have a soft spot for Gaudi architecture.)

ex_king_john  said about 2 months ago:

The next time i go to Europe I am doing the ATP/PS double. I will need to leave my wife behind. It's a terrible price to pay but I am prepared to do it.
Liam don't think of it as two festivals separated by a few days. PS starts on the Monday night with label showcases at bars like The Apolo, Then the Wed concert, three days of the festival itself including the In The Parc shows which are wirth the price alone and the wind up show on Sunday.
So 10 days straight. Shit I'm 56 and I can do it. Just stock up on No-Doz before you go. Or buy some from the one of the lovely african gentlemen at the gate.

lmc  said about 2 months ago:

I went to both ATP & PS in 2010. What a great month. Do it. But maybe organise a week on a beach with no alcohol after. I had to go into the mountains after PS for some recovery time.

mrmagoo  said about 2 months ago:

im going to head to San Sebastian for a bout 4 days of doing nothing after Primavera

lmc  said about 2 months ago:

Well planned mr. Have a ball. Days in the trippy, nights at the festival. Good times.

tihstar  said about 2 months ago:

I'm pretty happy with that line-up. Not as mind blowing as previous years but enough to keep me busy for sure.

tihstar  said 27 days ago:

Ultramagnetic MCs have cancelled. Gutted as I was looking forward to seeing them a lot.

Bjork has also cancelled a festival appearance 2 weeks before Prima which has a few people worried (I don't care). Not a lot of time to find a replacement if she cancels.

tihstar  said 14 days ago:

And its now official that Bjork is gone... just days after Death Grips. Depending on which of the organisers you believe they're trying/not trying to find a replacement. Pretty tough situation but I will feel pretty ripped off if they can't get another headliner after already losing 2 great bands (3 if you count the early GBV drop out) that I wanted to see.

mrmagoo  said 14 days ago:

theyve got to get a decent replacement for her, HUUGE drawcard!!

gutted

mrmagoo  said 14 days ago:

rough translation of Gabi's post on the forum about it -

Of course, life goes on and I think that is not enough time for an important addition. The bands have their clear agenda and only those that will not only they would play for sonrojantes amounts of money. This is the PS and there are plenty of bands to fill the hours of the day. At this point I think it's best that someone who acted in the Arc del Triomf go to do so within the Forum. Saint Etienne with a new album and show are the first candidates that come to mind.

tihstar  said 14 days ago:

Yeah, Gabi's post didn't fill me with confidence. If the best we can hope for is Saint Etienne that's a pretty sad state of affairs.

blake3030  said 14 days ago:

Not the best Primavera line-up i've seen, even before the drop-outs... but still better than most!! El-P, Rustie, Sharon Van Etten, The Field, War on Drugs, Jeff Mangum, Dirty Three, The Cure and REFUSED would keep me happy enough.

It always seems to me that the most exciting acts are the mid-range acts they get, rather than the headliners. Lot of repeats though this year though. How many times have Shellac played this now? Black Lips too....

mrmagoo  said 14 days ago:

there's definitely still plenty to see, just disappointed that the big dropouts are ones that I was really keen to see. Still gutted about GBV!

that and the fact that they think Franz Ferdinand are headliner material

mrmagoo  said 13 days ago:

ffs! the Thursday night is torture!!

mrmagoo  said 13 days ago:

I meant Friday there, going to be really hard to work that out

and the Walkmen have come in for Bjork, balls!

tihstar  said 13 days ago:

Yeah, the Friday clashes are pretty awful. With the Cure playing 2 hours 6 of the bands on my must see list playing at the same time (Cure, Melvins, War on Drugs, Liturgy, Napalm Death and Dirty Three). While these things normally work themselves out that's still a pretty massive pain. I'll still have a great time no doubt.

And Walkmen? Yawn.

mrmagoo  said 13 days ago:

Ah it's Saint Etienne in, Walkmen are at the Arc
