I'm eating chicken patiala from Kake di Hatti and it's good.
I love that place. Am I missing something? Is there somewhere better in Melbourne town? Northside hopefully.

Best Indian I've ever eaten, consistantly comes from a place in Bay st in Brighton, I can't remember what it's called, but they throw extra naan and things and not too pricey.
Worst Indian ever is definitely Curry Cafe on High st, Northcote. Everytime I order something there it takes forever, the portions are tiny (for the price) and it tastes like a packet mix with no flavour...they call it 'retro Indian' but I think they mean 'We've Americanized Indian so the flavour is milder (non existant) so kids can eat it'
I met some lovely Indian girls at my work this week. Thats all.
I useta think Classic Curry Company was good but went back there a coupla months ago and wasn't that happy. Pretty crude taste. Cheap though.
Incidentally, I cook the best rice in the known universe.
So...uh...no one's said Modi yet, huh?
i've only ever been to gaylords. it was pretty nice from memory.
Curry Masala in High St Northcote is awesome. Singh's in Nicholson St, East Brunswick also damn good.
Oooh, Curry Massala IS good. 2 thumbs up!
there is a place in Ivanhoe which is pretty fucking awesome but i can't recall the name.
Bismi on Sydney rd brunswick was pretty good but has lost it's way big time.
I only go to Gaylords when dumplings is closed.
But that said dumplings have been shit recently.
Taj Palace, Footscray
thread closed.
I like Gaylords. Not a fan of dumpings, though.
And, of course, Bhoj. Best ever.
There's a trio of good ones inTemplestowe.
Bhoj, Maharaja's and something else. All absolute top notch.
Gaylords is nice. I wouldn't say it's better than either of the ones I like in templestowe though.
Bhoj wins.
Rahboj, I think is the other one.
chana masala and a saag naan please!
I think I probably like the restaurant itself more than the food as far as Gaylords goes. Don't get me wrong, the food is great, but the restaurant is awesome.
Footscray?
Brighton?
Templestowe?
Fuck me drunk, I'd haveta plan that months in advance.
my workmate's joint
nah, it's not the best, it was good though

Can't believe Everest in Fairfield ain't on this list. Probably not the best in Melbourne, but probably the best Northern Suburbs take-away I've had. And it comes in a carry box!
Beware, when they say hot, they mean it. Mighty tasty though.
we had curry masala last night. definitely my favourite.
Kake di Hatti - nothing beats it.
We have recently discovered ''Orion,'' also on Bridge Rd, which is good.
Best Tandoori Lamb Chops EVER, and great staff.
AND they deliver booze with the food!
In my experience Curry Munchers on Swan St is very ordinary.
Have I mentioned Curry Cafe on High Street? I love that place so much.
i love cafe saffron on upper heidelberg road, ivanhoe. pretty good for the burbs.
Curry Cafe used to be the Salamander Cafe many years ago, and was actually a fairly decent cafe. Then it became a fairly average (and not particularly good value) Indian restaurant; not quite a good Indian, and not really a cafe as such, though somewhere in between. Of course, it may have improved since I last went there (some years ago).
I liked Gogi's on Johnston St. Though I think that's now a Spanish tapas place or something, isn't it?
Does ''Indian'' here encompass Nepalese/Tibetan? If so, the Wild Yak on Smith St. was quite decent. (I suspect that may have closed down as well.)
Two Fat Indians I've always found was tasteless, kinda watered down tripe. No taste...
My fav indian restaurant is about to close. Cafe Spice in Greensborough, on Main St. Food is always amazing, and Sanjeev was always awesome. I'm going to miss that place.
I'm a bit eh on Cafe Saffron, I still haven't tried Everest, I might try it on the way home from work on sat...
Did anyone rate Guru Da Dhaba, in Johnson St? It burnt down last night.
i'm rather fond of flora for what it is - the real deal, frequented by indians, it's cheap, and on flinders street in the city (opp the train station).
The cab driver who picked me up the other night he was a nice bloke.
I love BEDI'S in South Melbourne
Bala Da Dhaba, Glen Eira Rd Ripponlea
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Aangan in west footscray.

need an update. what's good? Somewhere in the northcote general area ideally
There is a good place on high st thornbury but I cant remember the name. Could be 'Bombay Masala' but Im not sure.
masala craft in thornbury is pretty great. the tandoori chops are next level.
i am very, very confused as to why the indian place down the road feels the need to put coconut milk in both the rogan josh AND the vindaloo.
neither of those should have coconut milk in them. i am very upset about this. fucken.
