i hear porn is huge in spain
cheers rosiea......it's all so clear now.
if you were planning to spend time out of paris in france then france mite be ok, but if it was a paris only thing definitely do spain too
Paris is beautiful, you should go if you have an appreciation of architecture and art. Stunning place. Also the french alps are nice, I went in the summer, also the French Rivveria? is supposed to be nice. I haven't been to Spain though so I can't say.
hahahahha.
france and spain.
once i knew a girl who's breasts were named france and spain.
she was hotter than the sun.
ahhh.
Well my best friend was planning on spending one year in spain, one year in France... she liked Spain so much though, she spent another year there. But now she's going to study in France. So?? Try to do both!
Another friend moved Spain, and hasn't left. So it must be a pretty fun place!
shazz-cheers sounds good.
there might some very interesting bands on tour in spain when yr overseas, cheezel
spain! love france, but spain is cheaper, better weather (for the most part), hotter people and yummier food. especially good if you like staying up late.
Spain is awesome, and France is full of arrogant French cunce.
Simple decision, really....
jesus france sounds shit:(
Barcelona is an amazing place. I heard down South is beautiful like Granada, Galicia. You wont regret.
if you havent been to either, do both.
i like them both, and once you have seen for yourself you can add your own 2c to this argument, and next time you'll know where you wanna spend more time.
Spain all the way. Just watch out for the Basque separatists..
When are you going cheezy? I will be in Spain mid-late Feb so if it´s after that I might have some tips for you..
What happened to the five days in each port plan?
pagey and HEB-this is when all the friends are heading home,.......mrs and i have two weeks alone:)
I loved Paris and disliked a lot of Spain...but maybe just cos of Barcelona and where I was staying. It felt like the gold coast. Felt very unsafe all the time.
Madrid was kind of boring too.
Paris, well, I'm trying to go there next week.
Spain - Pros: Most fun beautiful awesome country in Europe.
Do It! Barcelona is unbelieveable. So is Majorca if you've got the time...

Nice
(sorry -- had to be done)
in paris for a few days the end of september and figured I should probably look at accommodation pretty soon. Anyone got any good recommendations? Don't wanna spend a ton of cash but don't want to slum it either.
for some reason this thread keeps shitting itself whenever I try to venture into the fold.
Lucky thing, bungle!
I made a recommendation in this thread - the Hotel Eldorado.
We stayed here and loved it, not all rooms are pink!
I'm gonna take the plunge and try couch surfing in Paris.
I'm travelling by myself, and am hopeful I will get someone who is keen to show me around town, go to parties etc who isn't a borderline sociopath who tries to find friends via the internet.
Oh, and it will cost me nada.
pink hotel maybe slightly expensive (I'm by myself, and paris is the last stop on my trip) but I'll keep it in mind.
eldorado looks more my level of shabbiness, cheap too!
cheers!
I'm too much of a wuss for couch surfing. Unpredictability!!
True, it's a gamble, but I think it's a worthy one, travelling by myself. I'd either just cloister myself in a hotel or end up sitting silently in some hostel common room while loud people make me not want to engage in conversation.
we stayed at Hotel Avenir - a bit shabby but charming, cosy, friendly, cheap and a stone's throw from Montmartre and the tacky neon wonderland of Pigalle.
ta pagey, looks like a contender
got in contact with both hotel avenir and eldorado yesterday (on recommendation of this thread), both of which expect me to send them credit card details over unsecured email.
wtf paris!
Send them fake details and then when you get there apologise that you had the wrong card
we booked hotel avenir on hostelworld, bungle.
got a week in Paris in April/May so I was looking to see if any gigs are on.
The first thing I saw was John Butler Trio at € 95 per ticket. That's $145 at todays rate.
Got an apartment near the Louve. Looks like not much is open on 1 May so that might be the day to see some Chatteuax
GET ME THREE TIX PLS
good thread.
i'm going to be in spain next month, but only for a week. need some barca tips - i've found a few places to stay that look alright, but i've got no idea where the cool areas are. i want to be close to the partying. is barri gotica alright?
I might have to jump on board this thread soon. Gonna be spending 5 days in Paris followed by 5 in Barcelona come mid-October...
5 week family holiday in France starts this Saturday. Any Australian bands touring there at the moment?
It's a good area. We stayed at the H10 Montcada Hotel. We'd had a long tiring day's travel and were wrecked when we arrived. As we checked in they said ''would you like a complementary glass of champagne at the bar before you go to your room?'' It was wonderful
