the power out is an amazing album. was just listening the other day driving through sugar cane fields and it still holds up. but everything else about them has kinda sucked - from the other albums to their super dull liveshow - so i hafta figure that record was just a fluke. what's the new one sound like?

i didn't find them dull live. i didn't think their show at the corner was as good as it could've been but it was hardly dull.

yes! that show cost me $130 or something due to "lost" tickets
so perhaps that tainted things for me slightly. they had a lot to live up to for that price
I remember a particuarly obnoxious friend of mine went out of his way at the corner show to tell the lead singer of Electrelane that I thought she was cute.

she probably has a line of indie male groupies and an equal line of female loving ones.
She just said "that's nice". I was there, but I wasn't the obnoxious one..

Electrelane New Single Details
Electrelane have revealed details of a new single.
To The East is set for release as a limited edition 7" and download on March 12th.
It will be followed by the band's fourth LP No Shout, No Calls on April 30th.
To The East will be backed by Carolina Wren; originally intended to appear only on the Japanese version of the album.
UK Tour Dates
new single is up on their myspace - not sure yet
anyway, what a great band
interview here says that Australia wasn't one of their best touring experiences
which is a shame 'cause the show i saw was fucking excellent and it pleased me to think they might've enjoyed it too
