they once had their own brand of dogfood too right? in a very ltd quantity.
the melvins were never spokespeople for anti-consumerism. those shoes are pretty ugly though.
arrrg!
nah, there's nothing wrong with it.
i mean, if idiots are dumb enough to buy them, why shouldn't melvins cash in?
are those shoes real??
thats awesome.
anyone get that book that was released a year or two ago??
damn damn good book, and good cd with it to boot...
this one:

yep. it's beautiful. they've always had a great eye for packaging - the book was like the ultimate cover art for a great best of.
"the melvins were never spokespeople for anti-consumerism"
Thats true....I just get werid on bands who tap into that commerical marketing shit, KISS, Misfits, Ramones....keep it about the music fuckers
just listen, eltardo, stop thinking so much
how about the melvins foetus:
awesome. i'd buy that for a dollar.
wait... no i wouldn't.
I dunno - i have mixed feelings about the whole crazy merch thing... I was a big rocket from the crypt fan, and they had skateboards and belt buckles and all sortsa shit... I used to be in to it all, but can't be arsed now... unless something is really special...
looks like ET in a jar........
merch bores me unless it's a stubbie holder or a girly tshirt that i don't have to modify
i have a radiohead mug. i like it.
i have no problem with bands doing crazy merch if they want to. it's when kids are buying ramones tshirts when they've not even heard the band that it starts to get out of control.
(and that's not a random cynical comment - i've experienced the phenomenon first hand)
adam, we're talking good bands and merch
egad. not again!
well it is simply milking a name of a band for WHATEVER its worth.
That we all agree on, but think about the message this sends out to the kids.....
poor little over-hormoned little pimple faces all blushing at the mention of sex.

Where were you in Sydney
no, auckland
Pre gaming in the botanical gardens. Ahh yeah
That was rad!
Could have done with a few more songs but it was still pretty ace.
Watching Cody and Dale was intense.
Great at Soundwave. Rob zombie stole ten mins from them, but I was pleased that they played a big business song.
Was it Grounds For Divorce? because if it was, i made a big mistake not going to Soundwave...
Nah they didn't play any Big Biz songs mate. Pretty much same set as at Primus show but a bit shorter.
pretty sure they played 'Cats, Mice'.
Nah they didn't. I would have lost my shit if they did! but they both have a lot of songs now with similar vocal harmonies going on.
fair enough.
i don't usually drink at festivals, and it appears this one may have caught up with me.
still, would have loved a Big Business sideshow.
pumped:

Melvins tour NZ = earthquake.
Melvins tour Japan = earthquake.
Hmmmmm
Well, at the right volume, the scream in Night Goat could seriously shake any foundation!
the new Mastodon CD/DVD ''Live at the Aragon'' has a cover version of 'The Bit'. Normally my feeling about covers is ''don't fuck with the classics! how do you think you can improve on the original?'' but they don't embarass themselves
Go and get this now. Right now.
