new jjj lunchtime presenter

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago  or at  11:26AM on Saturday, January 6 2007 in music news

Linda Marigliano- a yoof presenter at a yoof station! Whoo-hoo!

Linda Marigliano (born 1988) is an Australian radio announcer, best known for her work on fbi radio and Triple J.

On fbi radio she presented the weekday arvo shift and on Triple J she hosted the Mid-dawn shift occasionally during the week.

On January 8, 2007, Linda starts her role as weekday lunch presenter on Triple J (12-3pm) weekdays, replacing previous presenter Myf Warhurst.

That'd be a first..a newbie only aged 19, getting the prime permanent weekday lunch spot!!

pumpuptheallah will be spewing!

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago:

myf's moving to breakfast with jay and the doctor.

temporarybenbutler  said about 5 years ago:

So they've promoted a graveyard presenter.

Any insomniacs actually heard her?

scissors  said about 5 years ago:

jay and the doctor... yuk.

are they based in sydney? does that mean myf's leaving melbourne?

temporarybenbutler  said about 5 years ago:

As far as I know Myf has already relocated to Sydney.

If you wanna get past a certain point in JJJ/the ABC at large, you've got to be based in Sydney.

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago:

myf already moved to sydney in 2006 to live with her then boyfriend..didn't work out though-but she's in sydney now anyways.

littlearch  said about 5 years ago:

why is myf moving to breakie? too much testosterone? hmmm, i dunno whether i really want to hear myf in the early morning :(. i like the boys on their own

shortrockus  said about 5 years ago:

What about spicks and specks? that's gonna be hard work. If 'jump the shark' exists on radio, I'll say the addition of Myf is the nail to the coffin. Seriously what the hell? She was good on her own as do the Frenzal guys. Now it just reminds me of commercial radio.

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago:

she became too high-profile because of spicks and specks so triple j management decided to go with the flow & put her in a higher rating timeslot.

the power of 666  said about 5 years ago:

Wowsers, go Linda!!!

scissors  said about 5 years ago:

Click image for a slightly funny interview.

Hazard_Man  said about 5 years ago:

Linda is awesome. I worked with her at fbi for the last few years, and I'm not surprised she was poached by JJJ. She's a natural.

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago:

I think this is her myspace...says she's a married lesbian-that's hott!

shakethecloudsout  said about 5 years ago:

kinda a smart move on behalf of the idiots behind the mega branding of JJJ, they must be getting increasingly worried about lil ol' FBi..

gardenia  said about 5 years ago:

what's with people in the music industry making a joke about absolutely everything? hasn't that gotten old yet?

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago:

whatcha mean?

littlearch  said about 5 years ago:

absolutely not

scissors  said about 5 years ago:

do you mean the interview with linda? i think those interviews are a bit embarrassing to fill out.

gardenia  said about 5 years ago:

i do mean that kind of interview. you ask a visual artist what his inspirations are and he'll write you 10 pages of the most passionate response ever. you ask a sociologist what got them into studying the relationship between art and commerce in tokyo and its hard to shut them up.

musicians and music people in general are way too "australian" sometimes. ie. they don't take themselves seriously enough! (though of course there's some ugly exceptions)

shortrockus  said about 5 years ago:

She's from Teenagers in Tokyo isn't she? Gonna miss her on FBI.

scissors  said about 5 years ago:

hahaha. a la eskimo joe.

fair call... it's hard to find earnest and interesting examples of those interviews. but i think it's got a lot to do with the way music comes to you. for visual artists or sociologists, in some ways they are given to very specific influences or mind-changing events. music, however, is absolutely everywhere, and you tend to go through at least two or three different over-arching styles before settling on what you like in adult life, particularly as a broadcaster, journo or musician. and the field is so incredibly vast... i have never been able to name a favourite artist or album.

gardenia  said about 5 years ago:

this is true. by "australian" i wasn't just referring to australians however. its just a phrase i use when people don't take themselves seriously so it could definitely apply to international acts too!

if she's from teenagers in toyko though that is very much their SHTICK. so in actual fact she's taking herself incredibly seriously...

gunshot_glitter  said about 5 years ago:

Lindas great...Ive worked with her on FBi too.

Shes a quick witt, very smooth and a big flirt :)

gardenia  said about 5 years ago:

ha shane warne is a BIG FLIRT. that my friend is no compliment...

gunshot_glitter  said about 5 years ago:

Im meant ..

interviewing wise, shes good and she can tease :)

Warney is a slut not a flirt

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

le_disco  said about 5 years ago:

i wonder if levins will take the triple j mid-dawn shift haha

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago:

who's levins??

Hazard_Man  said about 5 years ago:

The J's aren't Krunkin enough for Lev Dawg!

goldfoot  said about 5 years ago:

who's levins??

Are you serious? He's the other wunderkind from fbi. Yet to be poached by triple j but it can only be a matter of time.

Ohyeah  said about 5 years ago:

i don't understand why they are paying for three presenters in the morning. it is stupid. no wonder ABC's funding is reduced all the time.

empra  said about 5 years ago:

damn straight. levins is da master yo. soon to be poached by everyone.

the power of 666  said about 5 years ago:

i'm gonna poach levin's pants

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago:

I don't listen to fbi, I'm from melbourne.

there are plenty of melbourne presenters who will be poached by triple j too.

sticks up nose

gardenia  said about 5 years ago:

fuck off melbourne

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago:

that's the spirit.

goldfoot  said about 5 years ago:

Did anyone hear the interview Linda did with TISM a few years back. So funny I almost crashed my car.

nerdalert  said about 5 years ago:
