Eple  said about 5 years ago  or at  6:10PM on Friday, January 5 2007 in music

I just found a box full of tapes of old 'Recovery' episodes!!!

does everyone remember that show? and whats peoples favorite episode? and memories from it?

i have the one with Pulp and The Dandy Warhols and Public Enemy then there was another with and a very very very young Youth Group as house band and another with Custard singing Girls Like That.........

Saturday mornings used to be good.

Sonic Youth. Also like Dandy Warhols one.

empra  said about 5 years ago:

Jon Spencer were fucking tops on Recovery. Frenzal nearly shaving Dylans head was pretty funny too.

snap. 35 seconds.

one of sister's twins once wrote a poem about her kicking them out of the loungeroom so she could watch recovery

even i used to get up to watch it and sometimes tape it

filterfeed  said about 5 years ago:

i used to love recovery at the beginning. slowly began not to care as i got some taste. i won a competition on there once. think i got a hmv voucher. must've missed the one with pulp on it. upload it! er, if you can.

percolator  said about 5 years ago:

ha! and the avalanches smashed a shitload of vinyl... atleast i think that was on recovery

empra  said about 5 years ago:

dylan playing harmonica with silverchair doing whole lotta love was good too.

i found a bunch of tapes of this show a while back myself. bluebottle kiss did a great acoustic performance on there, right after fear of girls came out. sonic youth were awesome, as were the dandy warhols (their interview with jane gazzo was priceless). magic dirt were on it once too, and they were awesome. they did a slow song, maybe with a cellist?

used to be heaps of old recovery videos here ... but taken down .. bah

sharonstone  said about 5 years ago:

I do. was transvision vamp on that?

filterfeed  said about 5 years ago:

i remember bbk doing tapdancing (which is on youtube) and helping you hate me.

oh, and sidewinder might've been on one of the first few shows too. good time for music, that.

michael_horse  said about 5 years ago:

weird .. i remember bbk doing claim

do we have memory gain ?

red_beard  said about 5 years ago:

this was my saviour living in Yarrawonga, remember when Green Day decided that they wanted to play a choon and took over the house bands gear?

empra  said about 5 years ago:

i think i still have the recovery live cd somewhere actually.... there's some good tracks on there.

filterfeed  said about 5 years ago:

they were two different occasions, i should add. helping you hate me was just jamie and a very young ben on acoustic guitars. they weren't one of the main bands on or nothing.

i've drunk too much at said band's shows to ever have memory gain. wishful thinking. anyway.

KickOutTheHams  said about 5 years ago:

good times...

red_beard  said about 5 years ago:

yeah i have that! Dave Graney's "rock & Roll is where I hide" was one there. That was a really good compilation

red_beard  said about 5 years ago:

haha i forgot about the ENFORCER!

I loved the Bosstones when I was a 14 y/o tenor saxophone player in the highschool band. The part of me that is still that person still loves them, so yeah, I think they're pretty alright.

Just the title of this thread makes me feel old... it seems to imply remembering Recovery is unlikely as it was so looong ago... I mean, I suppose it was but not really a stretch to remember! I guess a lot if younger Gen Y's must be like ...''Recovery? ...wha?''.
