Boris have lost their consistency. They put out some gold and some pure shit.

i like Boris for being able to make a record like 'Flood' and then go all straight ahead on some of the more recent stuff on "Pink" I like their drone stuff best though (Amplifier Worship) I think it would make the most impact in a live setting.

I had heard that a tour was on the cards for last month, but i guess that ain't happening now...

I think 'consistency' is something which is a big issue for them- i've always found the 'one lengthy song' albums work best- Feedbacker/Flood etc- but Pink is easily the most cohesive album so far.

also, the Dronevil 2LP is freakin awesome.

So any reviews of this? I was away when this was on have heard a few mixed reactions to it.

Melbourne got a very mixed reaction... I originally thought it was rubbish (not loud enough, bad mix, only playing cheesy J-Pop) and then they played a few songs from Rainbow - my personal favourite - and walked away with a massive grin on my face.

Most people I spoke to were disappointed though.

I don't know what people were expecting - their last release was cheesy J-pop. I don't mind it to be honest, it's about as un-Boris as you can get and good on them for having the balls to do something so completely different and polarizing.

I made a compilation of the set list and enjoy listening to it.

That said, I like Boris for their older stuff. Seeing them play Feedbacker start to finish in 2009 is hands down my favourite live musical performance to date.

Also, the NSC show had MUCH better sound than the one at The Corner.

Most people I spoke to were disappointed though.

Lets hope that the future is not with the J-Pop because their slow and heavy psych material is so much better.
