i'm pretty new to this architecture bizzo. i only really know gaudi's stuff
anyone have any favourite architects ???
post pics for me to perve, please
yokes
Heroin is my favourite architect
But in all seriousness.. Gaudi's work doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. I like Ludwig Mies van der Rohe quite a bit.
Oh and Frank Lloyd Wrights Wingspread building impresses me for some reason.
what's his name, the one they call the forefather of modern architecture, le corbusier
also ray eames had some good ideas
and the Arts and Crafts movement - did William Morris the wallpaper guy ever design any buildings? there are buildings from that time that are lovely though
if i get a digicam for chrissy (here's hoping), i'll show you one of my very favourite buildings in melbourne. i drive past it nearly everyday, a work of majestic simplicity...
i think i just like anything that's unusual. which might be an immature way of approaching architecture. but i'm just so impressed that these unique creation are being built.
*creations
the latobe campus building with the genius sign on it on the corner of latrobe st. and elizabeth st. look up at the roof line, thers a little block just sitting on the corner of it......... it would make an ideal apartment...
i always stare at this when i wait for the tram........
i can go with that yokes. smaller works of art aren't bound by the same engineering issues, i think that's why unusual buildings catch our eye and fascinate us
you might like a guy called frank gehry
i do
here it is yokes, my favourite melbourne building for months now, taken with my new best ever chrissy gift:

I don't beleive that building even exists.. It's like a hallmark card
whoa - is that csiro preston?
420 st kilda road
i just love it
which part of preston has 28 story buildings and, leaves and no bomber jackets again?????
It's like a Pink Floyd album cover or something.
I'm thinking Tubular Bells HH
The Alan Parsons Project
these are real unadulterated pics i took today
how can you find fault with it? it's so not even there
um, chats can find fault with anything

first time i've learned about Levittown too
wow, so many amazing ideas.
Anyone recommend a good place (or 2) to get books on architecture? Australian architecture in particular.
There is a place on the corner / or near the corner of Little Bourke and Exhibition that specialises in architecture books.
JunkiePhil = Legend.
No probs, I walk past it nearly every day.
Never been in.
Looks nice though.
Real sorry PG, I walked past it last night, and it's not on that corner at all, it's Flinders lane & Exhibition st.
Sorry, hope you didn't already go have a gander.
It's actualy on the corner too, easy to find.
