Can you get this here? More to the point, is it worth it?

puretokyo  said about 5 years ago:

yeah its good, but the kode9 album is better

Goodbye_beret!  said about 5 years ago:

YA RLY?

shaun  said about 4 years ago:

The new Burial album is beautiful. I can't stop listening.

raven  said about 4 years ago:

I gave it the benefit of the doubt.
And doubt won. Yicky, those vocals make my ears bleed :( Some nice production here and there, but it's not for me.

aaaron  said about 4 years ago:

Yeah I would really like this if it wasn't for the vocals.

Psyclops  said about 4 years ago:

hey Raver - what you got against Terence Trent darby samples?
He he.

New Pinch is nice also.

raven  said about 4 years ago:

The new Pinch is great! Except for the two tracks with Yolanda which are AWFUL, although the instrumentals of them are nice too :)

dickqard  said about 4 years ago:

you can download the title track HERE

Psyclops  said about 4 years ago:

Ahhh...Yolandah...the name rings a bell as some guest diva on an old house 12''...Yolanda Adams?

dickqard  said about 4 years ago:

of burial that is

raven  said about 4 years ago:

Ghost Hardware is actually the title track of an EP that preceded the album, but it is on Untrue too. It's one of the least offensive tracks on the album, I'll give it that...

Psyclops  said about 4 years ago:

WHAT IF HE HAD NEVER MADE THE FIRST ALBUM?
PEOLE WOULD BE CREAMING (ALLEGEDLY) OOPS - ALL CAPS
sorry bout that

raven  said about 4 years ago:

Haha Psy.
If he hadn't made the first album I'd be saying ''Burial sucks!'' Fortunately he did.
My fave Burial track is ''Versus'', from the Warrior Dubz comp, though. Very tasty.

shaun  said about 4 years ago:

The vocals are beautiful. Listen to Endorphin and if you don't get tingly you must be a robot.

raven  said about 4 years ago:

I'm not a robot. I'm a person who doesn't like R&B vocals. C'mon, if I had the above reaction to them, I'm not about to go ''Oh, but Endorphin, yeah that one's beautiful!'' ;)

Anyway, end of argument - it's pointless, since my reaction is a visceral I've-always-hated-r&b-diva-vocals thing that spams gospel, soul, R&B, d'n'b and so on. With exceptions, but even then based on the style of singing. I dont' like opera either, so I'm pretty egalitarian about this. Burial = very talented and very accomplished, but with the vocals, not my thing. I shan't complain about this anymore (unless provoked... hehe)

raven  said about 4 years ago:

dont' -> don't obv

shaun  said about 4 years ago:

pfft. Robot.

moses  said about 4 years ago:

i dont think ill ever understand why burial is dubstep and not 2-step or broken beat or whatever. or why he gets so much love.

new lp from boomkat finally arrived today. excitement.

thats the ep yes? mine just arrived via juno. it joins a weird sub category of records - vinyl pressings which include ''vinyl surface noise'' mastered into the track.

tangy_zizzle  said about 1 year ago:

There's no LP and no LP on its way either. (at least not in the short term)

nishiki  said about 1 year ago:

i meant ep and wrote lp. sorry. i didn't notice the surface noise, i'll have to have another listen.

untold/animals  said about 1 year ago:

Not liking these tracks especially much.

Is it any good?

anonymous  said about 7 months ago:

haven't got around to listening it, work's getting in the way.

seems like a remix, not a collaboration, the limited run lp's already sold out.

untold/animals  said about 7 months ago:

Schmeh.

untold/animals  said about 7 months ago:

It's quite long so far.

untold/animals  said about 7 months ago:

That was kind of nothing-ish. Less directed than a Burial track and less intense than Massive Attack. Still has all the loopy moodiness and stuff in there though. It really just sounds like a sort of stretched out, washy Burial mix. Nice enough but I wouldn't be rushing out to buy it.

anonymous  said about 7 months ago:

yeah, doesn't seem to go anywhere.

expect to here it in a cafe soon.

New release, Kindred EP is quite incredible and different to his other stuff. Definitely worth a listen for anyone with a passing interest in Burial

Like track 1 and 3, but 2 is terrible

IronMic  said about 2 months ago:

i love burial, but man i wish the guy would use some new sounds.

astrousersasmind  said about 2 months ago:

Spotted a Stone Roses sample (the opening of Elephant Stone) in Ashtray Wasp! Am loving this, and I think he is using new sounds. They just seem to be ones flukazoid isn't so keen on.

kuroneko  said about 2 months ago:

Good stuff - thanks for the link, trousers.
