scotch egg  said about 2 years ago:

dsico  said about 1 year ago:

we just got ours today. well actually we don't get it till we get paid.

but sweet!

i'm going shopping.

Violet  said about 1 year ago:

I just found out we only get 65% of ours. Booo!

froginasock  said about 1 year ago:

What is this bonus thing?

KevinArnold  said about 1 year ago:

What is the going rate for bonuses?

i mean are we talking 500 bucks, grand, 5 grand, ten grand twenty grand, 50 grand?

I really have no idea.

Violet  said about 1 year ago:

I get 5% of my annual salary.

It used to be 10%

This year I only get 65% of the 5% because the dudes in the sales unit who have nothing to do with me didn't meet their targets.

Violet  said about 1 year ago:

Project Managers here get 20% of their annual salary, which in most cases would work out to be around 20 grand.

KevinArnold  said about 1 year ago:

Oh that stinks violet. Start tealing stationey to the value of said 35%.

I guess by that reckoning say av standard wage is 50K.

5% is 2500 bucks. 10% is 5000 bucks.

probably pretty standard??

svelteslacks  said about 1 year ago:

we don't get christmas bonuses, but we are up for salary review every six months.

mine is coming up in about six weeks.

i am asking for another 6-10 grand. woo!

KevinArnold  said about 1 year ago:

10 g's woah??

i have june end salary review and bonus.

Violet  said about 1 year ago:

That's about right. I intend to simply reduce my productivity and efficiency by 35%. I may send out an email stating tasks that from now on will only be performed if and when the fancy takes me.

I don't think it's too bad though, considering I get in and leave when I like. Rarely get in before nine, rarely leave after 5:30. The guys who get 20% do fucking ridiculous hours. Often crazy shit like 7 am to 9pm. You'd want a substantial pay off for that.

mrslooch  said about 1 year ago:

hi sveltes :)

hey, weren't you saying that you're not working very hard and you're just waiting to be fired?

I wnat a job where that sort of work ethic gets you a payrise!

dsico  said about 1 year ago:

I usually get a shit one - 5% or so but this year they came through with the goods. yeah!

Suppose we had a good year.

svelteslacks  said about 1 year ago:

10 g's woah??

yeah, the raise would be with the new promotion... and it brings me in line with what the previous person in the position was on.

hi mrs looch... they don't realise i'm not working hard yet... it's all going to come crashing at my feet one day soon though if i don't log off and do some work.

dsico  said about 1 year ago:

the big question is though - what do you do with your bonus?

  • buy some single expensive thing
  • Pay off the mortgage (Although I don't actually have one)
  • Fritter it away on Beer and rubbish

Violet  said about 1 year ago:

Beer and rubbish! Beer and rubbish!

Ten thousand dollars worth of beer!

poprocks96  said about 1 year ago:

put towards credit card, put in savings or buy stuff for me?

AlterEgo  said about 1 year ago:

i want a xmas bonus :(

and put it in savings for your o/s holiday. that's what i'd do. i've spent so much money on credit cards that i could have saved for o/s, and i'm in exactly the same amount of debt as i was before i threw a few grand at them. i have decided debt is a natural part of life and have decided to go with the debt flow, i.e - keep at bay but don't bother trying to wipe in out. it's far more relaxing.
