this is gonna be the first one i've missed since 1997. was better when it was the same morning of meredith, and also when the breakfasters were good n that...
Yeah, I'm considering it. It seems the polite thing to do, though my body isn't made for early rising.
acronyms FTW!
back when I was in year 8, me and my sister got up before six, caught the bus to box hill, the train from box hill to flinders st., then flinders to the Prince of Wales. it took us about an hour and a half to get there, and when we got there the bouncer didn't wanna let us in cos I was underage. me or my sister started crying so we were let in, and then I won a copy of Hardcore Logo and a Sunbury Video, then got into Ivanhoe around 10.30 for the last day of school. It was the coolest thing to do as a teenager. That was the last year of the classic lineup of hatzis, o'neill and langbroek. so looong ago...
"If you need any proof of 3RRR's commitment to fine music look no further than the list below which highlights a selection of excellent music we have presented live to air over the last few years."
Eight OBs from this year, zero of which are listed as musical performances.
heh - I was at that one too. I even remember when they did it at Gaslight and I think they did one at Revolver too. I've been to one with the current lineup, that's enough. I can be bored at home.
i went to one at revolver, i was still in school, think i got bored and went home too
watching radio isn't that exciting funnily enough
why are people always so down on the current breakfasters? I think they are really on the money at the moment. things change, people move on. get over it
i quite like the current lot.
i liked when it was holly c and john safran and mark o 'toole or was it fi?, those were fun year 12 mornings
oh, just down the road from me .. might go along
share a breakfast beer with me, ho-c ?
I'm over it. I dont listen anymore.
fuck, are you local?
who, me ?
ugh Mark O'Toole was awful. I think Chris V wasnt so bad, and Ho-C was rad, but faced a difficult audience of Kate L adoring fans.
not bad..haven't listened for a few weeks...one of em lives down in Hurstbridge I think...
yeah you
huh?
It's about two seconds from my new house so I'd feel bad not making an appearance.
Count me in, unless I have something horrible happen on Thursday morning (fingers crossed it doesn't).
i've lived in north fitzroy for 4 out of the past 5 years, if that's what you mean
i can't quite remember the last OB i went to ... it was in the city, somewhere .... safran era

whatever fatty!
k2, your endless wellspring of loathing for RRR is really quite compelling, but your theory that only ''coolsie / hipster'' types can do stuff for/at the station is laughable bordering on delusional. Sign up and do the course.
I dont loathe RRR clem - quite the opposite. I just feel it was, and could be better.
I have always liked the idea of doing an hour long show of street noises and ambient sounds from different cities each week. Perhaps some spoken word to accompany.
or HMV bourke st store.
Well Tim Minchin announced he's leaving at the end of the week to concentrate on his music.
Tim Minchin?
Tim Shiel
All new breakfast would be nice.
Adam Zwar FTW
i wonder if tim will be returning to present to&fro
sad to lose Tim from Breakfasters.
:(
from my understanding he's not doing any show, which sucks. Dave is still doing an ace job on To&Fro though
The problem isn't who leaves the Breakfasters, it's the one who stays...
Agreed.
its a shame tim's leaving the station. he's a good broadcaster.
i don’t understand all the sledging of the rrr breakfast team in this thread. its like a sliding scale from idealism to cynicism of what radio can achieve.
why expect nirvana to come rolling out of your radio every weekday morning?
I dont think anyone is expecting that. Something that doesnt make me want to get stabby on the way to work would be nice though.
Tim Minchin?
Tim Shiel
I''m an idiot, sorry too early in the morning to get the right name
is jess mcguire the new breakfaster?
fill in until end of the year currently?
I love JMcG. She is beyond hilaire.
This Friday for the end of year O/B
