oo err captain.
I was hoping Liam would pick up on that first. You've disappointed me. Both of you.
Gee golly fuck yes.
Wow, I'm over for one weekend in February but was planning on leaving on Sun night ... might have to look into changing that.
This will be an amazing run of Sunday night shows. I look forward to a month of Monday morning hangovers.
I wanna get funky...
Did you get a DJ slot, Frankie?
I think I did- possibly the first night.
I'm not really in the DJ game anymore, TJ. Especially not on a Sunday night. That would cruel my head bigtime.
First one coming up this Sunday.
Very jealous of anyone in Melb who goes to see this run of shows. And if you're not planning on going, erm why the hell not?
Not just for Melbourne people, I'm coming over from Adelaide.
You seriously bought a flight to Melb specifically to see this show? If so, huzzahs for you, that shows an admirable level of commitment. I considered it but am off to Bali in a fortnight so can't really spare the funds.
These shows will be pretty special. I can understand why you'd travel interstate to see Kim and Spencer.
I travel to Melbourne for gigs fairly regularly, this time I was already heading over for the Underground Lovers so I just had to extend my stay by a night. Not flying though.
lets hope Spencer has his new dentures by then.
Bumparoo
Anyone know who is on first?
This was the best ever gig in the world. Finished up with We Had Love, with Spencer singing Thanks over the top.
Oh. My. God.
Do you think Spencer will be asked back next week?

It's 'something to lean on' ('Something to Lean On', released on both The Low Road, and as a Surrealists track on the Non-Stop Action Groove EP). One of the great emotional angst songs ever written ('you're a job I wanna quit, but I still need the money').
Awww man. I get bummed every time I look in this thread...thats possibly one of my favourite Beasts/Salmon tunes.
that's the one, bamesjaker! thanks.
''monitors up motherfucker''
a great song. will have to get along next week.
Woman in audience to Spencer: ''I'm your fan on facebook!''
Spencer: ''I don't give a shit. I don't even have a computer.''
What a fantastic night that was...
So what were the playing times last night?
CAN SOMEBODY JUST FARKIN' SAY!!!
Spencer 9
Kim 10
Kim and Spencer 11
first 2 weeks it was Kim who was on first. same times though.
Thanks stirfry
I'm pretty sure that was the first time I've heard ''Words from a Woman to Her Man'' live. Only been waiting for it since I first saw Kim in 1994.
This sounds unreal fun - I hope someone captures this...
How about some pics or recordings from these shows??? Help a brother out.
Last one this weekend.
SPJ is playing with Renee Geyer at the Speigeltent on Sunday night- I think he's arranged someone special to do the first slot in his place and will get down to the Oldie as soon as he can.
Last one tonight
Someone special?
Sabrina Lawrie, so says the person who writes for spencer's facebook..
damn, Spencer was in fine form last night! Can anyone tell me if that tune ''She walks Between The Raindrops'' is one of his or a cover?
Pretty sure it's an original.
Last night's show was excellent. It'd be criminal not to take this on the road. They were THAT good. Agree with Tiger Tiger, Spencer was in top form (as was Kim). Execution Day, was perfect.
@tigertiger I am also pretty sure it is an original. It is a cracking song.
My memory is hazy but I think I remember first hearing it about two or three years ago, but as far as I know it hasn't been recorded / released proper.
