Eluvium

New EITS and Eluvium on the same day! Rock!

Our favorite living American composer, Matthew Cooper aka Eluvium, is set to release his fourth album, 'Copia', on February 20 (the same day as EITS, have we no shame?!). It is by far Eluvium's most epic album to date, expanding the instrumentation to include a small orchestra and a brass section. Fear not headcases: the same contemplative, lost-in-your-own-thoughts atmosphere that soaked all previous Eluvium releases is in abundance here. This is power ambient! To celebrate the good times, Eluvium will embark on a worldwide tour supporting his dear friends Explosions In The Sky. Life just keeps hitting homeruns!

COME TO AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!!

svelteslacks  said about 2 years ago:

i made it be our hold music at work. it is so lovely knowing that all our clients and suppliers have to listen to eluvium.

dickqard  said about 2 years ago:

the song is making passionate love to my ears, too

this is utterly gorgeous and brilliant.

michael_horse  said about 1 year ago:

looks like hiponion's wish came true

shaun  said about 1 year ago:

Eluvium is coming to Australia?

That would be nice.

hiponion  said about 1 year ago:

oo, deets horsey

michael_horse  said about 1 year ago:

see: explosions in the sky thread

hiponion  said about 1 year ago:

eluvium + eits = awesomeity

shaun  said about 1 year ago:

don't tell me he's supporting EITS. What an infuriating injustice.

kazpatafta  said about 1 year ago:

totally shaun. Can't believe I'm gonna have to buy a EITS ticket now : \

michael_horse  said about 1 year ago:

''don't tell me he's supporting EITS. What an infuriating injustice.''

err, has done so worldwide ... makes sense to me

shaun  said about 1 year ago:

it's an injustice that has occurred the world over then

hiponion  said about 1 year ago:

he'll do his own shows, too, probably, right?

AlterEgo  said about 1 year ago:

does it matter? you get to see 2 awesome bands on the same bill. works for me.

michael_horse  said about 1 year ago:

meh, i liked Eluvium, but the pace change from that to eits is MUCH better than it would have been in reverse

i reckon the ordering makes perfect sense

shaun  said about 1 year ago:

fair enough about the pace change. My real issue - apart from EITS being mediocre - is that Eluvium probably won't work very well at the Manning bar, and that he'd work better in a gallery space or somewhere a bit more intimate.

shaun  said about 1 year ago:

though I should stop being a sook and be happy he's coming at all!

michael_horse  said about 1 year ago:

also, hold off on the mediocrity calls until you see them live, i say

djbollocks  said about 11 months ago:

Any word on whether Eluvium will do a solo show in Melbourne? I really don't want to see Explosions in the Sky.

shaun  said about 11 months ago:

yeah, i'm in a similar boat djbollocks, 'cept in Sydney.

michael_horse  said about 11 months ago:

i don't think eluvium has played a gig without EITS for ages, by the looks

check the tour dates for yourself

none listed without them, for the next 5 months

eluvium + eits == a good thing, just accept it

michael_horse  said about 11 months ago:

sydney show is even less of a possibility, considering it's 3 nights in a row, bris -> syd -> mel

svelteslacks  said about 11 months ago:

so excited about this.

ProDelgado  said about 1 month ago:

How much money have you got?

Temporary Residence are releasing a 7LP box set, collecting just about everything released so far. It looks gorgeous.

''Highly anticipated and long-overdue, Life Through Bombardment collects virtually every Eluvium song ever released (plus a bunch of rare and unreleased non-album tracks) into one stunning 7xLP set, all on vinyl for the first and only time. Each record is packaged in its own full-color jacket, featuring exquisite new artwork from Jeannie Lynn Paske, drawn exclusively for this set. The seven jackets are then bound into a beautiful dark green hardbound, linen-cover book, with metallic gold foil stamping and embossed text on the spine, and a beautiful full-color print embossed into the front cover. The inside front cover includes a removable old-fashioned library card, complete with personalized signatures from the artists and designers involved in the creation of this package. The final name on the library card will belong to the purchaser, hand-written and dated when purchased. The inside back cover includes a mind-blowing 12x36'' foldout double-sided full-color poster insert, featuring more artwork from Ms. Paske. In addition, each copy of this set will include a unique digital code to download high-quality mp3s of the entire box set collection. This is limited to a one-time pressing of 1,000 copies, pressed onto 100% virgin black vinyl. ''

adamdmills  said about 1 month ago:

ProDelgado  said about 1 month ago:

I'm hoping that they will still be available once I get a job, I will treat myself from my first pay packet.

kazpatafta  said about 1 month ago:

How much did it cost you in aussie dollars can I ask adm?

adamdmills  said about 1 month ago:

about $220, i think.

kazpatafta  said about 1 month ago:

hmm I guess that works out to a little more than 20 a record. not tooooo bad considering the exchange rate and shipping and lovely packaging and such.

i know i shouldn't but i think i might

adamdmills  said about 1 month ago:
