Because it's a Friday, and blah blah blah more fun than blah blah blah work fun blah.

I like making lists.

Cloud Control - Bliss Release
Beach House - Teen Dream
Local Natives - Gorilla Manor

The Basics - Keep Your Friends Close (Even though technically it came out last year)

PooPeeTaste  said about 1 year ago:

Funhouse - The Stooges

And I've heard it every year for a number of years.

Sigh, slim pickings so far. This is not some obscure album /artist. Take it as a comment.

Gil Scott Heron - I'm New Here

The Ancients - The Ancients 2

The Frowning Clouds - Listen Closlier

If not:

Black Sabbath Heaven and Hell
Black Sabbath Mob Rules

quickstixpenny  said about 1 year ago:

Let's say it's stuff you've heard for the first time this year, regardless of when it was released.

Thrummmer  said about 1 year ago:

I'm with anonymous on Sir Lucious Left foot. Also throw in Archandroid by Janelle Monae and Notorious XX - a Biggie/XX mashup.

Onra - Long Distance
Circle Pit - Bruise Constellation
Tin Man - Scared

shaun  said about 1 year ago:

Maybe not the best, but I listen to them the most.

happycow  said about 1 year ago:

Fuck, I dunno, I don't think I've listened to any new really good albums this year.

The new Fall one is pretty good and I like the Om one too. I downloaded The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past soundtrack and have been listening to that, it's pretty good.

NiteShok  said about 1 year ago:

Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot

Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles
Foals - Total Life Forever
The Gin Club - Deathwish
LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
Die! Die! Die! - Form
Parades - Foreign Tapes

happycow  said about 1 year ago:

I listened to that Circle Pit album Shaun, it's OK but if that's the best of the year we're all in more trouble than I thought..

The Spitfire Parade one is pretty good. Uh, the new Les Savy Fav is pretty rubbish which is disappointing.

I really just want a new Mclusky album.

Kdizzle  said about 1 year ago:

Happycow.. where did you get the LZ soundtrack? WANT

happycow  said about 1 year ago:

Oh, really looking forward to the new My Disco album, I reckon that'll be the best. And the Absolute Boys 12'' single is pretty good, while we're on the topic of Melbourne post punk minimalism.

happycow  said about 1 year ago:

hang on, ill find you the link (hah!)

I really like the medieval military style tracks - Dark World Theme, Hyrule Castle Theme, Death Mountain Theme. And the Lost Woods and Kakariko village themes are great too.

william d drake - s/t cd from 2001

William D. Drake is an English keyboard player, singer, songwriter and composer. He is best known as a former member of renowned singer-songwriter Tim Smith's bands Cardiacs and The Sea Nymphs.

He has also been a member of the bands Nervous, Wood and Lefaye, has played keyboards with Rachel Goswell, and briefly led the psychedelic acoustic band Lake Of Puppies in the mid-1990s. He is currently a member of North Sea Radio Orchestra.

Drake began a long-delayed solo career in 2002 and has released two EPs (''Melancholy World'' and ''Earthy Shrine'') and three albums (''William D Drake'', ''Briny Hooves'' and ''Yew's Paw''). He divides his compositional work between idiosyncratic singer-songwriter work and classical piano pieces.
