TREVOR Marmalade is making a TV comeback.

The former Footy Show regular is set to go into production on The Statesmen of Comedy, a half-hour series to screen next year on Foxtel's The Comedy Channel.

The concept, backed by Eddie McGuire's production unit, McGuire Media, will see Marmalade host a show that brings together the best of Melbourne's comics.

Two of comedy's biggest names, Shane Bourne and Glenn Robbins, will be regulars on the show.

Marmalade last night said he was looking forward to starting work on the show and was happy to be renewing a working relationship with McGuire and former Footy Show producer Cos Cardone.

''It is basically a show where comedians talk about comedy,'' Marmalade said.

It sound like its going to be great.

Outraged  said about 1 year ago:

Sounds like another excruciatingly unfunny show hosted by and starring comedians that need to run their own shows to get work.

Trevor Marmalade is a dickhead. He's constantly objected to building a skatepark in St Kilda, on the flimsiest of arguments.

Derryn Hinch  said about 1 year ago:

i object to that skatepark too.

timewaster  said about 1 year ago:

Then you're a mean dickhead with no understanding of skateboarding and the community benefits that a skatepark will bring to the area.

SGH  said about 1 year ago:

How exactly does attracting groups of scary looking teenagers benefit a community?

The_Tupelo_Flash  said about 1 year ago:

if you're angered, offended (or vaguely threatened) by the sight of a teenager on a skateboard... you've officialy become an old fogey.

toadphoney  said about 1 year ago:

I'll have a word with Daryl next time we're having Chai and Twice Cooked Pork Belly (his fav) for you timewaster. He owns Trevor. I'll get that droopy faced fool silenced.

** Trevor Marmalade Punch Lines**
Over the years he is the main reason why i watch the footy show - somtimes just silly remarks other times classic calls - last night really was one of his best for a while

Classic joke about George Bush at the Primary School - i liked it anyway

and the line when Sammy goes im just too smart for everyone and Trevor turns around and goes

''Hey sammy, if you were that smart you would've walked behind your mrs car''

That was one of the funniest lines ive heard for a while

Also one show Trevor turned to Eddie Mcguire and asked him

''Hey Ed, if you got home and found Nathan Buckley in bed with your wife - which side of the bed would you get in?''

That is one of the funniest also - what other classic lines has he come up with lately??

cheers

Surely Russell Gilbert deserves a spot on this fantastic-sounding show.

toadphoney  said about 1 year ago:

Definitely. And Jimion too.
