Australia's premier garage rock label and record store - Off The Hip Records - celebrates it's 100th release with a party Sunday 22nd August at the newly re-vamp, re-openned Tote Hotel Collingwood.
Featured on the bill are Los Chicos from Madrid, Spain on their first tour of Australia, promoting their recent compilation ''Shakin' Fat''.
Plus seasoned rock'n'roll favourite Johnny Casino and the Secrets launching their new vinyl 7'' ''Hit the Ground Running''. And Melbourne heavyweights Russian Roulettes who are just back from Azkena rock festival where they shared the stage with Bob Dylan, KISS and the Black Lips to name just three.
All punters will receive a free 24 track Off The Hip Records label sampler when they join the festivities starts at 1pm!

still going but i had to jump ship early... awesome day of bands. russian roulettes fucking slayed, as did johnny casino, midnight woolf and pretty much everyone else... los chicos were tearing it up as i was leaving (they played a few songs with spencer p jones at the start) and just got a text that they were covering GOD. heh.

Due to being vegan I couldn't partake in the barbecue, but it looked INCREDIBLE. I can't believe we didn't play with Los Chicos, I'll be kicking myself forever. The GOD cover was appallingly awesome. The Cheats were fantastic. Johnny Casino owned as per usual. Mick Evans and Cris Wilson are two disgustingly handsome and talented lads. Russian Roulettes are possibly my favourite Australian band at the moment. Sam's yelping and shredding, Timmy's jaw-dropping bass domination and Agostino's demon drumming slayed me. Top fucking afternoon/evening. I'll be asleep at my desk by midday.

yeah, i got a free copy of ''tomorrow is today'' comp on the door (judyd got the shimmys album), and i bought a copy of the chicos comp and the midnight woolf album just because the whole day was so awesome i felt i needed to give some more back to off the hip... and the sausages in the real bread rolls were fantastic.
so glad i went to this. saw Los Chicos 3 times in 3 days. each one fucking awesome but AMAZING at the tote. and Russian Roulettes melted my face off.
