Looks like Fiona Horne at front !

noneabove  said about 1 year ago:

She's the guitarist from Bertha Control. I knew I recognised her. She plays a very decent lead, actually.

This band should be called Anarchist Toilet Duck.

Hellzapoppin  said about 1 year ago:

I hope they do a Last House On The Left cover.

Neither BC or AD sound anything like LHONL. You just namedropped them because you're a sexist pig.

Hellzapoppin  said about 1 year ago:

Indeed. But I bet Anarchist Duck will appear high in 4ZZZ's weekly charts.. LOCAL FEMALE CONTENT!!!

Goal attack  said about 1 year ago:

I have a few old buddies who live up Brisbane/Byorn way and would go nuts for this band.

He's waiting for a call from the casting director of Risky Business - Part 2

noneabove  said about 1 year ago:

Gosh, I do hope the tagline for that is 'Back in business!'

I think it's the right time for Heathen Skulls to step in and offer Anarchist Duck a spot on the static age bill. (Bill! hah!)

noneabove  said about 1 year ago:

Anarchist Duck-bill!

I like that as a band name.

On Tour with Anarchist Duck
February 10th, 2010 Comments Off
Anarchist Duck are back in town!! We hit them with our ‘On Tour’ Questionnaire and this is what they had to say… You can also catch them @ Corinbank 2010

  1. What is the tour called and what are the dates/venues?
    The Homeless and Hairy Tour
Fri Feb 19: The Front, Lyneham (8pm) with Dub Dub Goose
Sat Feb 20: The Phoenix (9pm) with Ben Drysdale
Sun Feb 21: Hush Lounge, Phillip ACT (3pm)
Mon Feb 22: The Phoenix – the bootleg sessions
Fri Feb 26: Braidwood Hotel, Braidwood (8pm) with Jake and Angela
Sat Feb 27: Corinbank Festival (time TBA)
Sun Feb 28: The Junkyard, Maitland (5pm)

  2. If you could tour with any other band, who would it be?
    The Cat Empire or Ozomatli

3.a Has there been any disasters on this tour, or previous tours? If so, do tell!
Probably the biggest disaster was Anders (drummer) sliding off a mountain with his van full of everyone’s gear after some shows. He was extremely jet-lagged at the time and was very lucky that the van stopped sliding or we would be playing with a drum machine now and $70 acoustic guitars. He managed to get out, walk a few kilometres on a dark mountain and wait two hours for two tow trucks to lift him out. We really loved him before, but I guess we appreciate him more than ever now. He can get away with anything.

3.b What is the most beautiful place you’re visiting on this tour, or have on previous tours? Why?
Never Never Creek in Bellingen on a previous tour. We’ve all seen heaps of amazing places in Australia, but that’s the best spot we’ve toured to as a band. There was a huge bat migration at the time which happens once every hundred years apparently. The creek is magic and some of the clearest water we’ve ever seen, with a nice little current to carry you downstream… Aaah such yummy swimming…

  1. What’s your advice for any artists/bands who are planning their first tour?
Get a manager or some really strong sedatives, unless you’ve done some intensive music management course. You could also aim to reach enlightenment first so you can make things materialise out of thin air.

  2. Do you have an album/EP/single you’re trying to push on this tour? If so, tell us about it?
The album is ‘Propaganda’ (Coming soon to Cardboard Charlie) and its got more soul than a shoe store. There are lots of layered harmonies, worldly reggae, 70’s funk and a touch of the carnival. It was produced with Paulie B (of The Beautiful Girls and George) in Jules and Flawless’ hometown Brisbane

I saw someone wearing an Anarchist Duck t-shirt at the Tassie Falls fest last week, gave me a slight chuckle

voidster  said about 11 months ago:

I've seen this band at a crap ''festival'' on the Gold Coast (they are a local band).

I know Looch will disagree with me as he is in love with them but I would rather stick knitting needles in my eyes and listen to John Butler. A horrific experience that even Fear and Loathing-like drug consumption couldn't help me with (in fact it made it worse).

max bulk  said about 8 months ago:

Haha that poster makes it look like the band's called Narcissist Duck.

Which is not a very good band name, but a fantastic title for a comic book about a clueless scenester duck who wears vests and those Pete Doherty hats. The running joke would be that he's some kind of perennial would-be cassanova who has no success with the lady ducks on account of his continual preening and intense self-consciousness which leads him to operate in perpetual oblivion to the people around him.
