Definitely will wait to hear what guests are coming out. Gorillaz sound system was woeful a couple of years back

Word is that everyone is coming, however, they can't announce it yet...

__v  said about 1 year ago:

they also better take the seats off the floor of the entertainment centre

not that i'm particularly passionate about gorillaz, but i'm pretty interested in seeing paul simonon, mick jones and bobby womack playing on the same stage

anonymous  said about 1 year ago:

playing meredith friday night.

anonymous  said about 1 year ago:

20th anniversary after all.

Sounds to me like they want to sell it out before they promise stars. If it doesn't sell it'll be a woeful show of nobodies.

Kit  said about 1 year ago:

Jones & Simonon are part of the live band proper, not guests, and Bobby Womack and De La have been on the whole tour. That's good enough for me. (TBH it's probably better without Mark E reading off sheets of looseleaf (cf Glasto) or Shaun shrieking like a wounded gibbon (cf Demon Days live))

Although the Terrorgraph is reporting $99 tix up the back of the Ent Cent, and $295 down the front, in seats, not dancefloor. But you also get a T-shirt and a poster! Woo! And a laminate that doesn't get you anywhere. And a sew-on patch for your cub scout shirt.

hm for that money i think i'll settle for having seen mick jones wrapped in stussy and playing shit music supporting u2 back in 1876

Kit  said about 1 year ago:

The Globe was no Megatop Phoenix but still ruled, count yourself all the way lucky

except for having to see U2 afterwards

Ghostface  said about 1 year ago:

$300 tickets??? What? That's fucked

__v  said about 1 year ago:

mick jones and paul simenon. that's kinda special. i reckon if the $119 tickets are GA dancefloor i might give it a shot.

bebop  said about 1 year ago:

So they playing at Meredith?

In all seriousness, anyone aware whether they'll put another show on the Sun or Mon night in Mlebourne? I don't want to fork out for Sydney or Adelaide because of Meredith, only for them to announce more shows..

ElmoKeep  said about 1 year ago:

Bebop, they won't be playing Meredith, any other city shows other than the first announce will depend on demand. Hope that helps!

bebop  said about 1 year ago:

Cheers. I didn't really think for a second theyd play meredith, but hopefully a Monday night second show fingers crossed

bebop  said about 1 year ago:

Anyone get tix?

__v  said about 1 year ago:

i bought a GA ticket in case i feel like going

postergirl  said about 1 year ago:

My sister told me this gig was the sickest shit ever. Good times!

Ghostface  said about 1 year ago:

Kit  said about 1 year ago:

I am also keen for a GA ticket or two, if anyone has any friends dropping out

the 2-for-1 up-the-back offer was gone by the time I tried :(

Ghostface  said about 1 year ago:

i'm even contemplating hitting up a scalper :(

__v  said about 1 year ago:

anyone know what times things are happening tomorrow night? two supports, yes?

Kit  said about 1 year ago:

it's cancelled, give me your ticket as a souvenier

Kit  said about 1 year ago:

or 7.30 Little Dragon, 8.15 De La, 9ish Gorillaz

Anyone aware of any dj stuff happening tonight in Sydney?

Little Dragon are playing live at Goodgod tonight but it's sold out - second show on Friday. And it's just Maseo DJing at Cargo, not all of De La.

__v  said about 1 year ago:

thanks kit

hmmm

bebop  said about 1 year ago:

Hmm

Kit  said about 1 year ago:

Turns out Mase was at Fringe Bar (on Oxford St near COFA) last night

noneabove  said about 1 year ago:

Considered it purely to see half the Clash.

Figured they'd probably do 'Should I stay or should I go' as an encore, saved money.

Hazard_Man  said about 1 year ago:

So? Where was the blow by blow updates? Poor form chats.

Now, spill it! How was it?

esquared  said about 1 year ago:

Pretty goddamn incredible. The whole show was just an extravaganza that didnt let up.

NakedApe  said about 1 year ago:

amazing show

__v  said about 1 year ago:

i'm really really glad i went to this

it was a really joyous show, excellent energy and lots to look at - everything sounded and looked awesome enough, and then it hits you that it's mick jones and paul simenon up there, and THEN they wheel on bobby fuckin womack and it is just nuts

having said that, i reckon i heard about six notes from mick jones all night, but his (and paul's) rebel rock posing was WORLD CLASS

i've never liked damon albarn but i gotta give him credit for using his portion of fame/influence to put together something really ambitious and interesting, this was a mightily good show
