I'll start a third thread as the previous one is in post-eating mode big time.

Today's vinyl purchase:

I just loaded up with 7'' singles from Prahran Dixons. If anyone's in shopping mode, the 'interesting' ones (ie ones I hadn't heard of, or had heard of and thought were interesting for whatever reason) are at the front of the alphabetic sections, it's now in good a-z order, and hopefully everything has the a-side and the price tag to the front.

You won't see Vafanculo Polka by Joe Dolce, Eli Olesh Souvenir from Omay Khayam, Red Shift's King Of The Beat, Welcome To My Wonderworld by Jon St Peeters, Chet Atkins Light My Fire/Mrs Robinson in a fantastic pic sleeve, or Isley Jasper Isley's Broadway's Closer To Sunset Blvd or a number of other rippers, because they've come home with me.

matt baileys new album

hey liamsnice, is this out and about or did you get a prerelease copy? i see there is a picture on matt's myspace but on a quick search can't find anything else about it. heard a bit of this a while ago and it sounded terrific (if it's the same thing).

Yesterday I bought

LP
Sparks- Propaganda (UK Island press)

CD
The Hotrats- Turn Ons (superfluous cover album by Supergrass members- is probably crap but was cheap)

LaxCharisma  said about 1 year ago:

I haven't been able to afford to buy as many rekerds as I use to but I did see this for $10. Always wanted it if not just for the cover but of course the music is brilliant too. Pretty sure at least one member of the Clash had a copy at some point:

bigstar  said about 1 year ago:

also got this on LP in the mail today:

currently listening to it, pretty interesting

djbollocks  said about 1 year ago:

The Chosen Few - The Jokes On Us 7'' (Re-issue, sounds like shit! What a shame.)
Deathwish/ECSR - TALOIGA 7''
The UK Squeeze - Singles Comp LP

shaun  said about 1 year ago:

Where can I get the UV Race cassettes?

nic.rulz  said about 1 year ago:

They only did 47 or something for their last show in Melb before the USA. Marcus gave me one at the BWBB show Saturday night. Same tunes will be released as a 7'' on America's best punk label Fashionable Idiots pretty soon I'd say. ''Garbage In My heart'' off the cassette is here.... http://www.myspace.com/uvrace

Big Bad Bo  said about 1 year ago:

An absolute mint copy of Buffalo Volcanic Rock with the poster/lyric sheet for $55! Score!

HiltonBummer  said about 1 year ago:

The Nils - s/t LP

What's the verdict? The Nils - Sell Out Young 12'' is a great record.

Archers of Loaf - Icky Mettle
Tim Buckley - Happy Sad
Tangerine Dream - Tangram
Can - Cannibalism III
Burial - s/t
Yo La Tengo - And Then nothing Turned Itself Inside Out

I'm so glad I waited for Matador to reissue And then Nothing...as I came close to blowing upwards of $80 for an original copy online a few times. The reissue is gatefold and looks and smells like the real thing.

On The Beach - Neil Young LP
Purple Rain - Prince Cassette (gave away my 1st copy, couldn't live without it)
Paris Texas - OST Cassette (Sealed and sounds amazing for a tape)

Finally got a copy of Gary Kail / Zurich 1916 ''Creative Nihilism'', which I've been after for about 12 years or so. Paid more than I normally would, but nowhere near as much as the $1700+ these guys are hoping to get for it, but I guess my copy isn't from Wolf Vostell's personal collection.

JunkiePhil  said about 4 months ago:

Brian Eno - Before and After Science
David Bowie - Man Who Sold The World
Bob Dylan - Another Side Of
Neil Diamond - Shilo
Rolling Stones - High Tide Green Grass
Roger Rabbit OST

stocking up on the classics JP?

JunkiePhil  said about 4 months ago:

they were all real cheep and in great nick at the Essendon fair.
all $1 bar Eno

JunkiePhil  said about 4 months ago:

I also got 1/2 of Exile for $1. Side 1 and 4. Gave it to a mate.

djbollocks  said about 4 months ago:

nice! would've loved to have to the Essendon fair but am far too broke at the moment and I can't go to those things without blowing at least $150.

JunkiePhil  said about 4 months ago:

It was full of smells, more so then usual. I spotted a lonesome crate up the back in a corner that was full of soundtracks and it looked as though no one had touched it. I thought I was in for a great haul but when I squeezed up to it, the worst smell of the fair was lurking there. So many smelss

astrousersasmind  said about 4 months ago:

Really appreciated the half price vinyl boxes at High Noon. Picked up a nice copy of The Wicker Man soundtrack, went off to get some cash out to pick up Across 110th St Soundtrack only to find it snagged, and fair enough.

happycow  said about 4 months ago:

I bought a Comets on Fire LP from a chat a few of weeks ago and transferred the money but have not heard back from him and have not received my record! Possible scammer!

mswahili  said about 4 months ago:

Haha, ah the record fair smells. The record fair paunches and combovers.

Actually (I was helping a mate at his stall) there were an unusual number of young folk at the fair yesterday. And rarer still, cute girls who were there to find stuff, not being dragged there against their will!
