about Bluebottle Kiss

Hey,
I am new here and as a BBK fan, I am looking for some of their EPs. I believe I'd have more chance on an Aussie website, but I also may be wrong....
Any of you, would you have or would you know someone who has a few BBK records, especially : GIRL GENIUS, SOMNAMBULIST HOMESICK BLUES, and DOUBLE YELLOW TARED?????
If yes, I love you(s), and please be so great as to accept to send a (burnt) copy over, for which you will of course be refunded.
Thank you in advance, and my email address is:
shattered_carr at yahoo.com.au
Thanks to all!!

try www.redeye.com.au, even though they're EXPENSIVE. on the other hand, try the band at www.bluebottlekiss.com as they sometimes find copies down the back of a couch and are preared to sell em.

filterfeed  said about 5 years ago:

i could probably help but i'm hopeless and all my ceedees are far, far away from me. try their mailing list. or ebay.

ew, couch.

elise  said about 5 years ago:

Red Eye is less expensive than Shock. Which are far less expensive than what we have over here in France.... postage fees included. So this is alright with me.
I don't go for Ebay that much. Plus I don't really care if it's an orginal or burnt copy...
I am trying to reach the band through the website but I don't want to crowd them more than they already are.
Thanks a lot to the person who offered to burn the CDs for me.

If anyone thinks of something else to offer, that's OK with me.... Feel free to email any time.

hmmm, I've had much difficulty finding some of their early stuff.

someone should help elise if they can.

holyrattlesnakes  said about 5 years ago:

wasn't there talk of whacking 'em all into one package at some stage? (Elevator Music; Double Yellow Tarred; Somnambulist)

filterfeed  said about 5 years ago:

if you don't have any luck, pm me in about 3 weeks just before i go home and i'll burn the stuff for you. i have it all (bar the first demo), so maybe tell me exactly what you want as well.

and yes, that applies to anyone else who wants copies.

also, i don't think the band are going to mind hearing from someone in france. if anything they'd be thrilled to know people like yourself exist.

runoutgroove  said about 5 years ago:

I can help out with all three. burns at least. try the band direct and if you don't have any luck drop me a PM.

wasn't there talk of whacking 'em all into one package at some stage? (Elevator Music; Double Yellow Tarred; Somnambulist)

This would be a good idea.

While they're at it, how about a re-released on Fear of Girls, 2xLP in gatfold sleeve. nice.

runoutgroove  said about 5 years ago:

did you sort it out elise?

elise  said about 5 years ago:

Yes, I sorted it out ---in a way...
I am sorry I am not on anytime---I have a new job and I'm doing my best to keep this going.
Someone from that forum just sent me a couple of CDs for which I am extremely thankful.
"also, i don't think the band are going to mind hearing from someone in france. if anything they'd be thrilled to know people like yourself exist."=> yes I know, they already are "wink"
The worst thing about living in France is, that I don't know when I may go to a show.... Haha. I keep asking but they keep saying thay can't.

elise  said about 5 years ago:

I mean, I keep in touch for the other stuff I may need.

Thanks to all.

I'd love the sonic elevator demo!
If I was good at burning cds I'd give you copies of the last playboy in town ep, all their bsides are pretty swell too, and the bonus disc etc.

Ohyeah  said about 5 years ago:

pfft redeye are not expensive, they are compariable. fucken' support indie record stores you fuckers.

shaun  said about 5 years ago:

i think they're referring to the prices for the Bluebottle Kiss albums, rather than commenting on Red Eye in general. Defensive puritan.

NakedApe  said about 5 years ago:

they are fuckin expensive sometimes.

elise  said about 5 years ago:

I suggest you all take a plane to France and try to buy a CD.
You'd be surprised how CHEAP Red Eye are........... even w/ BBK stuff.

steveholt  said about 3 years ago:

I just picked up SOMNAMBULIST HOMESICK BLUES for $10 at Brunswick St Dixons. I have been looking for this for years.

shaun  said about 3 years ago:

mutherfucker!!!

steveholt  said about 3 years ago:

i know

whatwhat  said about 3 years ago:

rock steveholt!

''familiar'' from that ep is so, so underrated.

did we have the same dream?
left it bleeding by the road
warped and scratched
like forgotten records in the sun
stolen broach in the hands
of the one you thought you loved
he's painting his number in the sky
you can't see a thing!

was thinking that too, goldfoot. sounds familiar though. despite my appreciation for this band not even i know all of their songs...despite probably owning everything that's been officially released.

MattuS  said about 1 year ago:

Watching this as soon as i get home!

Incremental  said about 1 year ago:

song playing over the end credits is 'you put out the fire' from the little bit of light ep.

rankinfile  said about 1 year ago:

the tribute night was a bit weird. Seemed quite disorganised. Highlights were Peter Fenton and co doing Ice on the Road, and the look on Jamie's face when one of the bands did a thrash version of Scouthall.

bigdaddykane  said about 1 year ago:

That is fantastic doco! Great way to spend an hour at work.

Made me want to go back and revisit the albums, which I guess is the point. Great soundtrack too. Think I'll make a mix:

A Little Bit Of Light
Little Disappearer
Exit 19B (Richard Fontain)
Last Playboy In Town
Gangsterland
I Remember When I Used To Love You
Slow Train To A Comfy Jail
You Put Out The Fire
Dream Audit
Sisters Head On
Everything Begins And Ends At Exactly The Right Time
Ministry Of Fear
Girl From The North Country (Dylan)
Judas Hands
Something Tiny
Return To The City Of Folded Arms
Slight Return
Fathers Hands
White Rider
You Put Out The Fire

I'd love to see the Richard Fontain cut too, where it just follows those guys. Willy's a legend around my parts.

Looking really forward to watching this now.

Thanks. just bought it on itunes. Nice track.

Non Zero should put out a 'best of'.

whatwhat  said about 1 year ago:

Or maybe just the live album!

steveholt  said about 1 year ago:

Yeah where the fuck is that live album?

KillerKitty  said about 1 year ago:

Vimeo on my computer is like trying to watch a mega slowed down version of a Japanese table tennis tournament. Needless to say I watched all 50 mins and loved it. I am seriously thinking of going to a net cafe to watch it. I liked Jamie pointing out at the book store show about the BBK advertising

outoftheaircrash  said about 1 year ago:

LOVING the doco.. So many familiar faces..

tinyman  said about 1 year ago:

just watched this. nicely done.

Anyone heard the Jamie Hutchings solo release that comes out in a couple of weeks? You can check out a couple of streaming tracks and my review over at Soulshine:

album is so, so good

NotMorrissey  said about 10 months ago:

Whatwhat, I hadn't even THOUGHT about Familar for about four years. My God, I barely even listen to BBK anymore, yet they are still my favourite bnd, and will never be trumped. I think they have attached themselves completely to my most formative years.

Your Snow is amazing. Amazing.

NotMorrissey  said about 10 months ago:

By the way, I'm going to put Elevator Music up on the web somehow soon. I'll let everyone know when and where.

sbxl  said about 8 months ago:

oh-oh-oh, so many BBK fans around... well so like I said somewhere else, I'll be in Brisbane next week / in Sydney by the end of the month, and it would be fun to meet you(s) :P
man, such an old thread :O

And also, anyone has fresh news of the live album (which we've been waiting for since 2008 if I remember correctly ...?)

ghoti-max  said about 8 months ago:

Unfortunately, they burned all the live recordings to build anticipation for their reformation in 2020.
