again?
Yes!
first two albums are great. that's 25 fucking years ago!
Yeah. Fuck yeah...it'll be the later line-up obviously with Valor but still I gotta do this I reckon.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Friday 13th August. Gaelic Club
I get the distinct feeling I'm going to this one alone...
no rikk agnew. boo.
Everybody I've mentioned this to has said that...yeah it sucks, I mean in that regard there ain't no Eva O or Rozz Williams either...but...to hear these songs performed live in some sort of capacity might make me smile a little...god I'm gonna stand out like dog balls at this gig.
Goth, Goth, Goth...dude wearing flanno...Goth, Goth, Goth...
go lax! maybe chuck a bit of cobweb next to one of your eyes?
I've made a mentla note of does and don'ts.
No Smiling.
Sunglasses at night
Thats it...I've got nothing.
I'm not getting the lippy out cause I really do believe that shit has an age limit. I'd look an old whore if I got all gothed up...you know the goth years has a lot to do with where I got the Lax Charisma moniker from.
Me, Make-Up, Too many drugs, too much booze, make up everywhere....Lax Charisma.
no rozz williams? is this a cover band?
Rozz died in '98. That said the parallel Valor/Rozz Christian Deaths in the 90's makes it all very confusing. Still, I'm looking forward to this. Tomorrow night!
If they don't do that backwards one from Theatre Of Pain, ask for your money back.
Basically, yeah, some late-era guitarist & his wife. I'm torn. As Lax said, would be great to hear these songs, but not sure if I can handle a chick singing them. That would be like watching The Stranglers with a girl singing Hugh Cornwell's songs to me.
Yeah, cause Rozz was so masculine...
Valor Kand has been a part of Christian Death since Catastrophe Ballet, and took over when Rozz WIlliams quit in '85. He's the current vocalist and guitarist. Maitri has been there since '94 on bass and vocals (backing, mainly). Not a big fan of her input, but recent live footage sounds decent.... when she's not singing.
there ya go - tenzenmen, out of the goth loop for decades!
I'm looking forward to it even if I am flying solo. I do for most gigs anyway...I reckon this could be OK.
...the footage on YouTube of This Is Heresy shot this year looks pretty good. I don't think this gig is going to be amazing but it should be fun. I'm really looking forward to it now.
Guess I'll go see what these clowns are like these days.
I'm going tomorrow, could be pretty funny
Yep. It will be funny...I'll elaborate tomorrow.
lol....you guys!!!
I did get to see perhaps ''the worst'' band I've ever seen before...it wasn't Christian Death...
Christian Death were...funny. I actually really liked Maitri. She may be the best part of that band now. I enjoyed some of it Sleepwalk and This Is Heresy were pretty cool. I didn't really dig them playing to cheesy backing tracks. Just get a keyboard player yer lazy bastards.
Glad I went though.
full band wars..
aye?
This was really something else
Elaborate...
Voltaire is like Bloodhound Gang, how long did you last ExoticCorpse? We left after 3 songs... Bit too LA Guns/Concrete Blonde, Christian Death were. Weird
Oh this is the Melbourne show I take it...we got The Dark Shadows and Familia as supports in Sydney.
Dark Shadows were slightly better than I recall but I got the feeling they were tailoring their set to the gig. I still don't think I like them...they were better though if that makes sense.
Familia....I never want to mention them again....perhaps the worst band I've ever seen.
Christian Death were fucking weird all right. Not exactly a well oiled machine...they had big ideas and didn't really pull them off for the most part...I reckon they could be better if they just played to the fact that they are a 3-piece band instead of playing along to all that backing track shit. Maitris' vocals and bass were awesome. Old mate was fairly good on the drums...Valor was a bit all over the place as a guitarist....It was a pity their ''big entrance'' wasn't smoother either with the delays etc it was just a bit spinal tap and also was just a token big effort intro that went by the wayside once they got into it a bit...
That being said I'm really glad I went. I enjoyed elements of it. Now if only Alien Sex Fiend would get over here. I've given up that Sisters Of Mercy will ever bother and I hate that Bauhaus reformed and split up just as soon and never looked likely to get here. I would have loved to have seen them.
I lasted until the end, only because I was enjoying the strange-ness of the experience. She's a lyrical genius! The pussycat song was a highlight.... Went well with the ''My Pictures'' slideshow. Couldn't do the encore though, I was feeling dizzy from the rendition of Church of no Return.
Hold my pussycat
Pat it till it purrs
Kiss my pussycat
Caress it’s silky fur
Haha...yeah...''pussycat''...
Sounds like I didnt miss anything
If only we could get Alien Sex Fiend to Australia
Thats exactly what I said...I'm also still pissed Bauhaus never came here OR Sisters Of Mercy.
I wouldn't discount SOM just yet.
IS there something you know that I don't Texaco?
All I'm gonna say (cos I don't wish to hex it) is that I've been hearing the name bandied about in certain circles... Fingers crossed!
Interesting...well if it happens that would be pretty cool.
I know! That's one I definitely wouldn't miss. I wonder if there's any hope of Siouxsie?
Who knows Texaco...closest was the Creatures tour of quite a few years ago now. I went to that and it was pretty good.
Yeah, I enjoyed that one. Prior to that was the tour with Bob Smith on guitar. Seminal.
Yeah that would have been great...
