The opinions that make your friends stop and stare at you in mid-conversation, or that will get you banned from social events in certain circles. That confuse your peers and make no sense to your loved ones.
I'll go first.
I don't think Lou Reed or the Velvet Underground are actually very good. I think Lou is vastly overrated as a songwriter and a guitarist. I like almost every one of those thousand bands who started because of the Velvet Underground, but I think they're actually guff.
Your turn.

Dirty Three are a one-trick pony.
Radiohead are rubbish
Muse is alright. I saw them at BDO2010 and they were pretty impressive. I was pissed later how much firworks they had in their show when I was at another stage. Thought they totally lost the plot. But it was actually the 100th BDO celebrations.
Mogwai can at times be insipidly boring
I prefer 'Best Wishes' to 'The Age of Quarrel'.
Vinyl is dead.
that the local melbourne music scene is nowhere near as cool or interesting as it thinks it is.
Drum machines are sexier than most drummers.
'Be Here Now' is a pretty good record.
I actually think the Clash's Cut the crap is more interesting and enjoyable that Give 'em enough rope. Years ahead of its time and has moments of genuinely genius avant-guard production.
bands shouldn't be allowed to reform unless they write new material......ever!
The first Tin Machine record is really good.
yes!
Cocteau Twins are the poor man's Enya.
My friends like/d Middle East and I thought they were atrocious. That wasn't very controversial though I don't think
I thought that was taken for granted.
Disliking Peaches was another
celtic frost suck
Fuck yes. Some of the most misogynistic lyrics I've ever heard. And her samples sucked, too.
Gasp! Oh no you didn't!

Lionel Ritchie's Dancing on the Ceiling is one of the greatest albums ever made.
Apart from a select few pop tunes, GG Allin sucks in every conceivable way.
Elvis fucking rules
Not controversial.

depends on the choice of 'select few pop tunes'
Goyte is shite
not controversial.
GG Allin was not really a musical act, he was life as psychotic art.
The Archies were one of the best pop acts of the '60s.

Have some sugar.
Lawrence shits all over Morrissey
Not so controversial
'Paegan Terrorism Tactics' is better than 'When The Kite String Pops'
Oh no he didnt!
I've never heard a pj Harvey album, and I don't intend to change that anytime soon.
that's a shame.
Rid Of Me is the only one you need to hear, in my controversial opinion.
To Bring You my Love & Dry?
The bass sound on the Nickelback song ''Never Again'' is straight up awesome.
Both sound too British for my Anglophobic ears
i like dry a lot, but i think to bring you my love is awful
