down here for fringe and need to be back sooner than expected but tickets are stupidly overpriced/full due to clipsal so i thought i'd just check if anyone was driving back tomorrow? i've a full licence and petrol money plus will likely have several kilos of fruchocs.

damn, there should be a question mark in that topic title...

hyperfuzz  said about 1 year ago:

so, where's nice to stop on the way?

alicia  said about 1 year ago:

There's a great cafe called Salingers, which is a tiny town called Great Western on the highway through the Grampians. Good food, coffee and setup. Never found anything else like it on the drive...usually just bad, overpriced generic cafes or delis/servos.

hyperfuzz  said about 1 year ago:

cheers! will have to check it out...

alicia  said about 1 year ago:

Oh...by the way, it's only open Wednesday to Sunday (so disappointed when we were driving back on a Tuesday...) and it's opposite the pub.

Nhill is also quite a nice town to stop in.

hyperfuzz  said about 1 year ago:

seems like a good second stop. much appreciated. going up next saturday.

crackwhore  said about 1 year ago:

check out Keith too fuzzman, if only for the name.

hyperfuzz  said about 1 year ago:

tempting, but i think our novelty name stop for that area might have to be Ki Ki.

crackwhore  said about 1 year ago:

pity you're not going to Perth, Iron Knob is an interesting town.

i stopped at the pie shop in bordertown and ran into BATRIDER and two people wearing matching RIDE t-shirts

am i going to end up going to scorpion springs national park only to find the so called ''scorpions'' are actually just spraypainted yabbies?

crackwhore  said about 1 year ago:

ah, forget about visiting Iron Knob then fuzzman, you'll be bitterly disappointed.

hyperfuzz  said about 1 year ago:

not the first time i've been fooled by a can of metallic spraypaint.

alicia  said about 1 year ago:

From memory, there is nothing in Ki Ki...blink and you'll miss it.

alicia  said about 1 year ago:

Also, I don't recommend going into the shop at the Big Koala...it is best admired from the car at 100km/h.

Keith had a great servo that doubled as a small diner with arcade games from what I can remember.
