Can anyone recommend a good printer in Melbourne for business cards? Not after bargain basement, just good quality printing and service.
Cheers

I used EcoPrint in Richmond not long ago for a run of business cards. It was okay. I'd be interested in peoples' recommendations for high quality eco-friendly printers.
I have used these guys before. Pretty cheap and deliver to your door.
i reckon these guys are the go!
We offer a few different recycled stocks - some are 100% post consumer, some are a mxi and all of our stock that isn't recycled is sourced using Sustainable Forrest Practices or from renewable plantations.
All stocks used are Elemental Chlorine free - no nasty gasses used when bleaching the paper.
All inks used are a soy/vegetable/linseed blend (apart from the metallic inks, which are rare)
Shout Out Loud is our music, entertainment and arts brand and our enviro brand is launching in the next few months (all stocks are environmentally friendly etc) and the plan is to have it carbon neutral.
that will be the first step until the entire group of brands becomes CN.
China?
most stock comes from there, yes.
or did you mean CN?
CN = carbon neutral.
if you know how to prepare jobs these guys are the cheapest in Melbourne, there's no proofing but they are helpful for any potential problems. 1/2 to 2/3 of the price of most places

if you need a little handholding these guys are good, also in Melbourne

I'm not too fussed on who is the cheapest or fastest, just good quality and who knows what they are doing - this job may be a little fiddly. Hot foil print, maybe spot UV, non-standard size etc.
we do foiling or spot UV, custom sizes etc - just email for pricing.
I was on your site but couldn't find any info on bcard printing...
From 4 years of a graphic design degree I would say..
Classic Colour for best overall print quality
E Plot Best value for money/quality ratio
Gorilla are pretty good too
re: eco printing got some samples from these people the other day which look great. haven't used em yet though so can't vouch for their reliability or anything but they appear pretty switched on. seems so many ''responsible'' printers just make a few tokenistic changes, chuck some tick box logos on their website and think that's enough. + half of em are probably just fronts for larger print houses trying to cover all corners of the market anyway. so it's good to see people who actually seem genuine about it (ie. their stance against lamination, foiling etc based on the environmental impact of those practices...)
Classic Colour - the site tells me they do just digital printing, CMYK...not offset/spot colour? I'm after spot/offset. even screenprinted as unorthodox as that is. love that raised profile (without the expense of embossing)
Ive found that Space Print are have really good quality business cards and they deliver anywhere in Australia for free - www.spaceprint.com.au
