See, this is just one reason why festivals are my idea of hell.
There is something quite appealing about running around in your coat and gumboots getting messy and tipsy while listening to good tunes with your friends.
But yeah kind of have to be in the mood for it.
yeah - i agree - don't fight it and you'll have a lovely time
and make your tent an alladdin's cave of comfort
How the fuck ya ment to roll a smoke, let alone smoke it! AHHHH!
Thats my idea a hell.
I'll be light'n em under your big head then.
My favourite Meredith events have been the wet ones. Makes it more exciting for some reason. Maybe the chance of slipping in the mud or getting all your shit wet is a more exciting type of danger than sunstroke.
haha thanks dude, but I'm not going.
How the fuck are you meant to smoke at all? Banning sale of cigarettes at outdoor events seems a little weird to me.
Buy before you go seems like the logical answer.
I usually do anyway. I still reckon it's weird. It does make me think of buying a caryon and selling them for $20 a pack, though
bom says...
saturday - max 24, min 15, rain 5-10mm
sunday - max 24, min 16, rain 15-25mm
saturday - max 25, min 16, rain 5-10mm
TWO SATURDAYS! YAY!
i like pavement that much too.
packing to catch a plane with wet weather and camping gear sucks.
Soz, that's Monday's OBVIOUSLY.
i seem to get bad luck at the start of long weekends, tonight is no different. fuck this shit.
It's pretty sunny here in Williamstown as we're packing the car
Ruh-roh...
Golf ball sized hail storm just hit Collingwood...
just pulled into the lomond bottle shop as the hail struck, phew, at least the sydney road warehouse fire will be damped pretty quickly
if it hits golden plains fear not and just sit it out in a car - it should only last 20 minutes at most and was quite fun to watch
Look at all that dark red on the radar
looks like it's moving away from gp so nothing to worry about
poor bastards
Wow, that was intense! Our house is leaking buckets. I hope they didn't get hail like that at Golden Plains. Ouch.
first photos from golden plains

they're off to see dinosaur jr
the sky is angry my friends
what ware house fire in syd rd oort?
good one bugsy
ah just past the edinburgh castle, opposite side of the road, about an hour or so ago, up in smoke, someone at the drive-through said it was the courthouse
Poor buggers
at least they'll have good stories to tell.
I was driving over the Westgate and saw a huge lightning bolt hit the ground somewhere around Altona North, followed by a huge spray of fire/light on the ground. Wonder what unlucky person or object bore the brunt of that.
i hope everyone is ok - that's been (still is) a very full on storm.
gnarley
Just spoke to a mate at GP and it is dry as a bone down there. Melbournes a strange place isn't it.
good research
september says it's raining at GP now.
Heavy like Melbs just got?
just drizzle i believe
Luckily the Melbourne storm missed GP, but it was raining quite a bit all yesterday. Not as bad as Meredith 08, but still wet. Had to come home today, apparently its meant to get a little worse today..
bebop- did you come home because of the weather?
I'm having slight Golden Plains envy today. Didn't yesterday, do today.
Yesterday was fine. Rained hard for a bit during Dino Jr but no storm. When the storm hit Melbourne we were watching Lou Barlow play an acoustic set in a bit of drizzle on the ridge of the canyon. tough. Rain starting a bit now for the first time today. Still warm. Dirty Projectors about to start.
bebop- did you come home because of the weather?
Nah, I had to get back today so only went for the night. I imagine the weather is pretty shite there right now though...
yeah i reckon it'd be right miserable
10.8mm between 6pm and 9pm tonight
22.0mm between Sat 10pm and 9am this morning
Mon Thunder-storms
Chance of Rain Likely Amount 90% 5-10mm
puddles! imagine rosie-loo…
well what do you know? we seemed not to bear the brunt of god's fury this time
odd to think the weather was better out there than back here in melbourne
you guys got fucking pummelled i see
well I'm glad to hear that you kids weren't. I was thinking of youse all.
