Comprising members of The Stabs, Assassination Collective, DAR, the Gruntled (Syd) etc the behemoth of the Paul Kidney Experience is a monolithic beast that defies contemporary pigeonholing. Having completed their first recording and having it set to be the debut release for the Sunshine & Grease Label, they bring their sound to The Builders Arms for the first time on Friday 5th March.
Able support is provided by Battlesnake, a rollicking, ferocious, whooping and hollering three-piece channelling music from the radiant fields somewhere between James Brown, Sonic Youth, DJ Krush and The Necks – their last show before trips interstate. They've never played the same song twice and don't expect to start now, mixing hypnotic krautrock grooves with the lurching drunken left-hand turn at the heart of the psychedelic experience.
Openers Alexandria promise to set a tone that will challenge all followers with their prog twist on a noisy affair. Serene abstract beatific restraint meets hip-shaking, fists-in-the-air party starters with free form noise along the way – how could you miss it!

that volcano-snake looks like a t-shirt design I screen printed in high school for my indoor criket teams uniform. Our team was called the Screaming Kneecaps.

I was talking to Paul and he mentioned a PKE CD launch but I can't remember the details because I was very sleepy at the time.
