yeah I know and teles..and SG's, but to me, it's gibson les paul for the powerchords and little figures he does.., an (a) chord single finger job /second fret on a gibson into a marshall is like the top of the tree for that who tone. flat hard overdriven, fluffy strats I reckon never suited townsend, it's just cos jimi was mr psychadelic man and out of his mind that townsend has always faught this temptation over. but he has his thing on a gibson where nobody touches him (IMHO)

yeah cheap too jimi as well they smashed strats cos they were cheap. les pauls aren't. jimi loved gibson but you know couldn't bare to smash them
