yoghurt  said about 2 years ago:

and the festival? how does it compare to say, high st festival?

Ben  said about 2 years ago:

larry flints hustler lounge used to be Crystal Ts. The neon sign for Crystal Ts was awesome.

yoghurt  said about 2 years ago:

from a signage point of view, larrys is one of the most vibrant on sydney rd.

tvforcats  said about 2 years ago:

not too bad, vegan grocery, savers, good lebo food. The festival is still a maybe bit lamo. They need less old man blues bands and world music, that would juice it up a bit

Tiba's make the best falafel in Melbourne.
Great spinach and cheese pies at Tibet's and A1.
Round & Round is a GREAT record store.
Don Bosco, Savers, Salvos, Brotherhood of St Laurence, all pretty good op shops.
Edinburgh Castle for a beer.
Ray's & A Minor Place just off Sydney rd for a brew.

I like Sydney rd. The festival's crap though. That said, I got a Bruce Springsteen tour program from the Born In The USA tour last time.

The Brunswick Green is ace.
Edinburgh Castle has good bands and is only a short stumble from my house.
The Barkly Square carpark sucks huge donkey balls, but Tamzy at the Flight Centre there is a legend.
Rajee's Instant Indian. When my best boy is around, we eat there about three times a week.

yoghurt  said about 2 years ago:

sydney rd has it all.

would you say rajees is the best indian on syd rd?

also keen to know the best kebabs on the gaza strip to.

sharonstone  said about 2 years ago:

I like that i dont live anywhere near it

JunkiePhil  said about 2 years ago:

I lived on Sydney Rd for a year, loved it at the start, hated it at the end.
I love A1, Tebets, Tibas and the Brunswick Green and Omara Grocer.
I Hate the fish and chip shop that moved in under me, Larry Flints Husslers for all the rude eye balling men that would say rude shit to me and my lady at the time and all the people who can't hack a girl in short shorts walking down the st.

I'd never live on that st again.

yoghurt  said about 2 years ago:

good on ya!

JunkiePhil  said about 2 years ago:

Oh, I love that cheep vietmanise gaff that does a wicked $8 Pho too, near savers.

oort  said about 2 years ago:

Basketball court also at Barkly Square with wierd shutdown illegal ghost units built on toxic land... Went to two pubs I hadn't been to over last weekend, Brunswick's The Union and Penny Black, both great.

JunkiePhil  said about 2 years ago:

Oh, and all the people that yell at you from their cars
Happenes so much on upper Sydney rd.

i think once you get past blyth or albion, heading towards bell st things start getting shit.

oort  said about 2 years ago:

maybe just past round and round?

yoghurt  said about 2 years ago:

whats with those weird apartments? those courts are ok considering the glass and no nets.

mrmagoo  said about 2 years ago:

love the pubs of Sydney Road, and surrounds

oort  said about 2 years ago:

built on ex-factory (drycleaning?) wasteland, dodgy soil test before construction, condemned.

postie  said about 2 years ago:

A1 and Edinburgh Castle are north of round and round. theres not much north of Albion though

Rally  said about 2 years ago:

Something about all the concrete and $2 shops make me really thirsty walking down Sydney road. I live at the royal parade end and have to walk through the stifling concrete heat nearly every day. I like A1 cheese pies too, but it's a bit of a hike up the street. Probably a good thing. Lot of salt in those delicious pies.

Sydney rd has had a bad run recently.

I would like to know more about those flyers up about the 3 girls getting bashed by a group of 4-5 guys on the corner of Moreland and Sydney rds. Has anyone seen those?
