This track is purely made up of YouTube samples of solo performances of slap and fretless bass. None of the performances include percussion or other instruments, it's just dudes spanking their 4, 5 and 6 string axes as only they know how. Some sampled performances are by big names (in the bass world), others by amateurs. It was a fun little challenge to make the world's ugliest music tasteful.
The samples were chopped up, looped, effected and arranged. No extra soft synths or drum machines were used. Effects were used though. I got as far as I could after a couple of nights and couldn't be fucked doing any more.

It's true! Ya get home from work, get the kids fed and put to bed, clean up and it's 10pm before you get started. Knowing the likelihood of being woken up at 6 I had to stop at midnight. I had dreams of slap bass last night. I might see if I can find some Primus on YouTube...
