Why do they love themselves so much?
You know -- the really pretentious blogs where they talk about what prescription drugs they will abuse this week, while making repeated references to writers like William S. Burroughs, Henry Miller and Haruki Murakami.
They often use really short sentences, a deadpan tone and 'heaps' of 'bloody scare quotes' to inject 'irony' into their posts.
What gives?
Americans love them selves in general. They are in love with drugs, prescription or otherwise, and by and large can't wait to tell everyone about them. I think it's a status thing; ''I'm on this drug(insert stupidly expensive drug paid for by med insurance) and its so awesome.''
At the end of the day they are really only blogging for themselves.
Like when Noam Chomsky (sp) gave a speech in England about manufacturing consent etc, and some guy stood up and said that it's all well and good but just not relevant in good old Blighty where a free press operates. Or something like that.
I think it's all about affluence effluence.
''blogging'' should be an entry in that book 'stuff white people like'.
bloggers annoy me.
I never got that, that they seem really into prescription drugs. Everyone seems to be taking something like its really cooooooooool. Or even over the counter drugs for every little ailment. I'll be damned if I even take a panadol!

^ What do you mean by productive? I fail to see how one album + an EP makes them one of the most prolific groups of the year.

I read iso50.com and draplin.com for design nerdiness and stumble across the occasional garage punk mp3 blog that I think is awesome then forget about a day later
