From what I can tell one of the best-worst movies ever: ''Oh Hai Mark'' I haven't seen it yet, but I will soon as it is
playing at the Nova.
Perhaps strangest of all it cost $7,000,000- where the fuck did the funding for this? That's another movie........

watched it a while back. early on it's just kinda boring/bafflingly shit, but then gets much worse and really funny. wisseau is one of a kind.
think the wiki page has a fair bit of info regarding funding, etc.
Also see the Tim & Eric thread. My pal has organised the screening series at Nova. They're trying to lure Wiseau down for the screenings depending on interest via Facebook etc. So if you're a fan - please RSVP to the event.
I'd love Wiseau to visit.
I've been thinking recently that he should write, direct and star in the next Batman. Tommy Wiseau was BORN to play Batman/Bruce Wayne
I did naaaaht!
Oh hi, Robin.
you can get wiseau bobble heads now. he was also a featured director in the philos-o-face director's cut.
also, they screened it at loop at some point last year and people threw spoons etc. hopefully all that stupid interactive jazz happens at the nova too.
I'm guessing there may be costumes.
Wiseau at the screenings would be the best thing ever. I only heard about this movie a couple of months ago.
So there's gonna be a Sydney screening with a Q&A - not with Wiseau sadly. For Melbs peeps, the inside word still is that if enough people show up to the Nova late shows, he'll eventually visit.
Already got Sydney tix.. So excited.
Anyone catch this on Saturday night? Strangest movie-going experience of my life. Like watching a movie with a footy crowd. I think I missed much of the noxious dialogue thanks to the bellowed interactive lunacy, the football and spoon throwing. Even so, I don't think I was prepared for just how hilariously awful this is. Great stuff.
Also, Jens Lekman was there. He looked to be enjoying it. If that doesn't draw out the indie kids I don't know what will.
marz102 and I showed up at around 10pm and tried to buy tickets. No luck.
My friend tells me the other sessions are already selling too. This piece of crap seems to have something of a following.
Your best bet would be to purchase online, otherwise the fanboy/gals will have snapped up all the tickets by the time you show.
Yep, tix to all other sessions are still available online but the guy working at Nova told us they expect all to sell out in advance. Can't make it this Saturday so will hopefully book for the following.
Are there any tragics tragic enough to go to more than one screening?
I think members of the ''Tommy Wiseau Street Team'' are attending all of them. They seem to be like the cheerleaders.
According to the message from Tommy to Australian viewers, you need to see The Room ''at least five times in the cinema'' to fully appreciate it.
Wish I knew about these screenings earlier. Classic.
Oh hi, doggy!
Did Wiseau show? Or can we only see him in the gristly arse nude shots of himself all the way through.
The intimate scenes have been burnt into my retinas. So worried I'll have Nam-like flashbacks to these at inappropriate moments. Distressing.
There was a fan dressed as Tommy, some tuxedos and a guy in a red dress. But no Tommy. No yet anyway.

sound board is so fun.
'Dooon't touch me, mother fucker''.
i had no idea how amazing this film would be... thought that it must be overrated, but it wasn't. it really wasn't. so good.
I haven't laughed so hard in years. Especially at the surly pug in the flower shop. ''HAI, DOGGY!''
I was actually woken up this morning by hyperfuzz yelling ''I DID NOT HIT HER! Oh hai, Mark!'' Fucking ridiculous. Lisa's mother is wonderfully vile. I love how she flippantly tells Lisa that she's got cancer and then it's never mentioned again. Is Danny (Denny?) supposed to be a special needs case? Because he certainly comes across that way. Either than or he's a rapist in the making.
I'm seriously crying with laughter.
Saw it last night at Nova, wow, what a unique experience. I just liked yelling 'COZ YOU'RE A WOMAN!!!!' at every opportunity. The people behind me were veteran viewers, this was their 7th time, they coached us well.
the spoons is the best.
Defiantly. Loved it, couldn't sit through it SEVEN times though.
We had a lot of people doing a George Costanza.
That's gotta hurt!

Yeah I completely agree with postergirl on both counts- the lady introducing was seriosuly fucking irritating - 'Hey this is so shit I will make fun of it- I'm so funny!'. And as my friend who first told me about it pointed out- 'Because I'm a woman' is meant to show up the misogny in the film, but the crowd shouting it out was misognynisitic in itself.
I watched it without the fanboys with a friend on Saturday night off a hard drive; we could rewind the funny stuff- way more fun. I could actually hear the terrible diaologue this time. Oh and the 7 minute interview with Wiseau is awesome- I laughed so hard my stomach felt it was going to burst.
Keep your stupid comments in your pocket.
My pal interviews Tommy on Perth community radio
BUT I WAS OUTRAGED!!
A Microsoft Paint representation of the sex scene(s) as created by basil seal:
FTFY
Soz, I had to save it in Paint because we use shitty PCs at work.
THE ROOM THE GAME HOLY FUCK
Tres hilarant!
I love that I was able to legitimately say ''O HAI MARK!'' to someone today.
OH HI DOGGY.
The House That Drips Blood On Alex
Mark looks like sunnyboyz
