hyperfuzz  said about 2 years ago:

it's a 61 or a 62... it's not the best player at the moment (action needs some work because of a poorly designed headstock angle and the newish bridge, i guess), but it sounds fucking ace. i haven't done anything to it, but the whole pickguard and the trisonics are new, and i think the bridge... it has an on/off toggle for each pickup, and one of those two-in-one tone/volume pots for each one too... if you ever come to a gig, i'll bring it...

hyperfuzz  said about 2 years ago:

it might have had a refin too...

astrousersasmind  said about 2 years ago:

hmmm, sounds rad. chunky neck?

goingblank  said about 2 years ago:

What's the sunburst offset number it that newspaper pic?

hyperfuzz  said about 2 years ago:

not really... it's not tiny, but nowhere near the firebird, which is is pretty clubby...

hyperfuzz  said about 2 years ago:

...in a comfy way.

Patinka Cha Cha  said about 2 years ago:

Is anyone interesting in a new Danelectro Hornet? It's Red.

FrankieTeardrop  said about 2 years ago:

How old is this guitar Patinka? Not that I can afford to buy anything at the moment - I'm just interested.

FrankieTeardrop  said about 2 years ago:

Is it like this?

Patinka Cha Cha  said about 2 years ago:

Yes! It's new, as in brand new... geh. they retail for $600 in Australia but I am happy with $400...

Patinka Cha Cha  said about 2 years ago:

It's pretty good - I like it. And REALLY light. that's why I bought it. But there's some jazz stuff I can't do on it so I am deciding to part with it. The tone on the neck and middle pick ups is good, but the bridge pick up isn't amazing.

Goal attack  said about 2 years ago:

Does it have a Wang bar?

celluloid hero  said about 2 years ago:

what is that danelectro thing? a reissue of an old guitar?

Patinka Cha Cha  said about 2 years ago:

Yep it does... The tremolo is pretty rad - it's not a full on screeching rock solo style whammy, more of a surfy sound.

FrankieTeardrop  said about 2 years ago:

It's a sweet guitar. The design is actually a mixture of two classic 60s guitars - the Coral Hornet (pic 1) and a Silvertone (pic 2). Both were made by Danelectro. Link Wray played a three pick-up version (pic 3) for that classic surf guitar sound.

Goal attack  said about 2 years ago:

I''m pretty interested, lemme check the finances

celluloid hero  said about 2 years ago:

so it's a reissue right? where did you buy it?

Hellzapoppin  said about 2 years ago:

There was a nice playing mosrite copy down in Frankston cash converters on Friday, not sure what the brand was, it had the feel of a Dipinto but lacked the racing stripes to be one. I was tempted but broke.

Patinka Cha Cha  said about 2 years ago:

I bought it new from the US... got it shipped here. So I haven't taken it out of the house - had a play for a few days and realised it wasn't 100% my thing so want to sell it whilst it's in good condition so I don't loose too much money.

Patinka Cha Cha  said about 2 years ago:

My Danelectro Hornet is still for sale if anyone is interested...
