Too early? I say Nay.
Ive said it in years past....but truly this is the year the mighty green machine win the flag.
And this is the man that's gonna make the difference....

Josh Dugan, the boy can play!

the new dragons red jersey is vomit inducing. think that may have actually inspired the design come to think of it.
Please Cowboys, handle the imminent departure Mr. Thurston better than you did Mr. Murray.
With this in mind, I can't say I hold much optimism for next season. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I predict we'll lose the bulk of our first few rounds matches before Bowen returns with his second lab-grown knee, Thurston will get the shits and seek an early release for a truckload of cash.
and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Mr. Bennett is driving the truck.
yeah right, bennett would never pay the kind of money that thurston demands. it'll be the same old cap rorters that get him, if he leaves.
hello bulldogs, manly, roosters.
Interesting. I'm still intruigued by the dragons end of year run. I havent seen such a choke in league for a long time.
I'm pretty sure the roosters payed good money for todd carney.
He shops at Pacific Square, Maroubra - so probably about as good as your spelling.
I wouldn't be so sure...how many seasons has Hornby got left in him? And imagine the Soward/Thurston combo...defensively they'd be a bit of worry though
come to think of it, maybe tim sheens has had a quiet word to him over the four nations tour...how cashed up are the tigers?
lol, canberra.
roosters don't need another half.
just a preview.
hmmm, dragons will have beau henry though, eventually. thurston goes against bennett's team effort/no stars ethic i reckon.
so basically there'll be no premiership to celebrate forever and ever and ever. the end.
you're dreaming, anon.
why not, last year was supposed to be the dud year when everyone important left, we've got no major people leaving, the squads still there, and its up to everyone else to catch up.
and we'll have the best home ground in the league to celebrate.
i didn't say you wouldn't make the grand final, just said you wouldn't win it. plus it's just boring now.
let me give that some thought..
nah, its not boring, its winning!
okay. wouldn't know.
I had a ''discussion'' with a belligerent drunk man last Sunday who kept harping on about the conflict of interest in News Limited owning some of NRL and all of Melbourne, blah blah, and that this was the reason why they kept winning. But how does that help them be better than everyone else? Because there’s a conflict of interest. But what does that have to do with the team and the coach? It’s a conflict of interest. But everyone has the same money to buy players and coaches. They are just better than my team and your team and it’s not due to ownership or money because we all have a cap. Yes it is. How? It’s a conflict of interest.
Is that really the general perception? And if so, what the fuck am I missing here? All I can think of is that they may have better facilities than other clubs, but surely a better gym is not the difference here.
Hi Wipey.
hahaha. awesome. poor wipey.
if, say, greg inglis is the face of the nrl next year, does that count towards melbourne's tally of players who have third-party sponsorship deals? just curious.
don't get that argument either, surely south's new base at redfern would be newer and better then olympic park which melbourne's been at.
bring back super league, free money for all!

What the fuck is this on tv right now. It fucking burns.
There had better be some serious coverage of Nighty during the Kiwi dance routine to make up for this visual and aural rape.
equally entertaining and frustrating game on saturday night.
I guess we shoudl start the 2011 NRL thread now huh?

Stuart confirmed as Blues coach
Ricky Stuart, the last man to coach New South Wales to an Origin series victory, has been confirmed as the Blues' first full-time coach for the next two years.
New South Wales has not won a series since 2005, the last year of Stuart's previous tenure.
Since then, the start-studded Queensland side has recorded five straight series' victories.
Stuart replaces Craig Bellamy.

FFS.
well if he can take cronulla to second-last on the ladder, he can take the blues...er, yeah, i didn't know how to finish that sentence either.
congratulations queensland.
Is he in the running for Sheens' job as well?
GI looking supremely fit
piss fit that is
dragons picked up some shark scraps I see. good luck with cutho.
watch jeremy smith's rapid decline with the sharks! only on nrl 2011, coming soon.
no dig at benny creagh, then? you lot are much too mature.
wow, inglis has totally packed it on. imagine what an off-season with rusty is going to do to him!
Stuart?
fuck.
nobody cares about origin anymore.
not until nsw win again, that is.

hah!
the most amazing thing - 118kg!!! fuck me
how dumb is this guy? i was over the 2010 season by round 20 and that was with the dragons winning the comp. most of the players probably feel the same way with all the rep commitments and whatnot.
So, no 2011 thread yet, but anyhow..
Ryan Tandy arrested for alleged role in betting scandal
EXCLUSIVE
Bulldogs front-rower Ryan Tandy has been arrested by police for his alleged role in a betting sting on Canterbury's round-24 NRL match against North Queensland last year.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Racing and Casino Investigation Unit are finalising their investigation into suspicious betting activity on the game, an inquiry that has this month used the powers of the NSW Crime Commission.
It is understood Tandy was arrested today.
His role in the match has been a centre of focus since betting agencies reported suspicious punting trends on the usually novelty option of the Cowboys to open the scoring with a penalty goal.
The alleged sting was ultimately unsuccessful after the Cowboys declined a chance to kick an easy goal after two minutes, and instead scored a try.
Tandy, who was penalised in front of the posts for lying on Cowboys half Grant Rovelli, strongly denied giving it away intentionally in an interview with the Herald published on August 28.
MORE TO COME
WHOA... thats big news.
Perhaps we should kick off the 2011 thread.
