Wons, get the first five albums (Cheap Trick, Heaven Tonight, In Colour, Live at Boudokan, Dream Police). The rest have some good tracks, but aren't essential.

Fave tracks: Hello There, Southern Girls, Oh Candy, I Want You To Want Me, Dream Police, Way Of The World, If You Want My Love.

One of my favourite punk bands!

funny you say that, nic.rulz - I remember seeing the clip for Elo Kiddies on Countdown back in '77, seeing Rick Nielsen in that nutso chequered getup and cap, and thinking ''ah, this must be that punk rock I've been hearing so much about....''

The re-recorded their 1977 album ''In Color'' with Albini in 1997. It is bitchen!!!

cupojo  said about 3 months ago:

Wow, Albini doing IN Color? Jblz, WHERE can you get a copy of that recording?

Tiger Tiger  said about 3 months ago:

its a fairly rough sounding recording. almost demo-quality to my ears.

Sounds very good to my ears despite being 128kbps

cupojo  said about 3 months ago:

Thanks jblz, enjoying this right now. Would love to hear Albini and Cheap Trick have a go at the first CT album. Though I imagine it wouldn't be as marked a difference as this treatment of In Color is to the original -- the debut had a real edge to it anyway.

I played this recording for two days straight now. What a hoot. Still, I want to find a better bitrate version.
