You would doubt Neil Finn's ability to appear next year. Although Serj Tankian has been living there for a while. System of a down syndrome?

Was school the best time of your life?

Was it the worst time of your life?

What if school was the most inspiring, revelatory, exciting and dreamlike period of your entire life, where amazing shit was constantly happening everywhere and your teachers were your friends and your friends were the sound of a thousand high fives.

It’s happening.

Campus A Low Hum is taking place at a historical agricultural college just outside of Bulls. Sitting unused since 1989, this incredible site features a Gymnasium, Library, Classrooms, Dorms and heaps more on a large landscaped property. The first term of Campus A Low Hum will begin soon. Will you enrol?

I have retained everything that was special about the Camp A Low Hum philosophy: intimate performances, small crowds, multiple environments, renegade performances, no band announcements, multiple performances by bands, spontaneous party action – and taken it bak 2 skool and added a whole bunch of new concepts to make it a brand new experience.

Campus A Low Hum will feature just as many amazing live music performances as you’ve come to expect (in 2009 over 100 acts played, including renegades). But Campus A Low Hum is not just about music, it’s about bringing together a whole bunch of creative ideas and interactive experiences. Anything awesome that is happening anywhere could make its way onto Campus.

And don’t worry, wagging and studying is encouraged at CALH, particularly with some sweet sand dunes and a beach only 5 minutes down the road. And you don’t need mum’s permission for the field trips.

There’s even the possibility of hooking up one of the (very limited) dorm rooms at the Campus for those who don’t want to tent it. Frat party.

CAMPUS A LOW HUM 2010
BULLS
TERM 1 – JAN 23/24/25
$200

As usual, if you can’t pay the full tuition now, you can just make a deposit. Also, I have a very special travel offer for those from the South Island…but you need to be QUICK!

Camp A Low Hum 2009 sold out very early and I am not increasing the allotted tickets for CALH2010 by much at all, so don’t let the dog eat your homework and miss out on the first ever term of Campus A Low Hum.

I met that kid from BMX Rapists at the Worker's Club one night during the EBAGC residency.

He was there with his mum. He was a lovely dude. I didn't have the heart to ask his mum what she thought of his band name. They were very nice to me about getting a new job and congratulated me.

This story is abundant with truth and reality.

burga  said about 7 months ago:

watch the pool stage fill up

shineslikerubies  said about 7 months ago:

wow. awesome pics. awesome stage.

burga  said about 7 months ago:

that last photos wasn't the same band/time line... but it still shows the pool stage in full effect.

at night it was even cooler but the iphone has no flash. I'll eventually upload some of the girlfriends digital photos. Ruby Suns with all the coloured balloons should look cool.

JunkiePhil  said about 7 months ago:

Funny shit when the nude dude jumped in the deep end for never nudes, pool was only 1/3 full and he had to do the walk of shame past everyone sitting down on the sides, cause he couldn't climb back out.
Everyone clapped the dude, I was filming but didn't follow his walk, cause I felt weird about it, but I really should have in hindsight.

untold/animals  said about 7 months ago:

Fuck that stage is awesome.

By day 3, the amount of teenage New Zealanders wearing Ouch My Face t-shirts was pretty awesome.

whaddaparty!!!

uploading photos and various killer videos now to my computer

highlights: BMX Rapists, The Dhdfd's, Ko-Ko Nuts, Witch Hats(Pool set), Clockcleaner sounding band, EBAGC, Renegade Stage, Batrider, Gaywyre, Bum Creek, Smell The Cheese, Pets With Pets, Jono, Having lots of Codeine, Having lots of tobacco, Having lots of Gin, The Tote, The Arthouse, Merch desk! and the NZ GURLZ.

lowlights: Setting up tent in the rain at midnight, Dan Deacon fans, DZ, no bar, no NZ gurl love.

the next night some leftover Melb crew went out with Batrider for late night Karaoke, it ruled.

I used to swim in that pool about 15 years ago and imagine things like CALH happening. I used to live there and there was one other dude who was into metal who played guitar. The only rock n rollers for kilometres. There's photos of me in the auditorium sitting on santas knee. The REAL father christmas not the dudes dressed up in red suits nowadays. Wish I could have been there.
