the age quiz

september  said about 2 years ago  or at  2:38PM on Tuesday, October 6 2009 in stupidity

the daily quiz in the age is gone.

how do you feel about this?

it's been replaced with a have you been paying attention quiz, which is fine if you have and shit if you haven't.

were the quiz writer for the age and the quiz writer for the herald sun in bed together? because every so often there would be a similar question in the two paper's quizzes on the same day and some times less coincidently, the same week.

something along these lines for example: age question: who was the voice of princess fiona in shrek. herald sun question: who was the voice of shrek?

moo-core  said about 2 years ago:

This retarded new concept has killed the quiz. It's dead to me now. I want general knowledge, not this weeks news. Fail!

Block  said about 2 years ago:

They are dumbing down the whole page- like with the pathetic fucking cartoons they run.
And like they moved DA's Friday cryptic to Saturdays, to give wetbrains more time to figure it out.
In other news- it may be Gerry Adams' birthday today but he is still a beardy terrorist cunt to me. Suck on that, Text For Today.

JRB  said about 2 years ago:

the pathetic fucking cartoons they run.

Man, that cartoon's shit. Australian newspaper cartoons are always shit - with the notable exception of Snake of course.

Block  said about 2 years ago:

That cartoon is English- as is Bristow. The other two they run are American.

JRB  said about 2 years ago:

Really? I could swear Arctic Circle was Aussie.

Checks link

Okay, she's a Brit who moved to NZ and now lives in Elwood.

moo-core  said about 2 years ago:

I reckon this is easily the best comic line up they've had as far as i remember. I hate Bristow and was so, so glad to see the back of Between Friends. Wizard of Id is inoffensive and i like the other three. They're all hit and miss at times but i like then nonetheless.

moo-core  said about 2 years ago:

Though i'm not sure i hate anything more than Ballard Street. Fuck Ballard Street.

theneworphan  said about 2 years ago:

bristow's days are numbered

JRB  said about 2 years ago:

Bistow's awesome! I used to hat the strip, find it unfunny, wonder why people read it...

...then I got an office job.

$10 and a slab of beer says that when Chester Perry is out of the office Bristow wastes his days posting on M+N.

KevinArnold  said about 2 years ago:

i'm strictly a Herald Sun Quiz man septie.

But even the quality of that has gone down hill. Seriously how many times can Celine Dion be the who am i?

Cooperative Music  said about 2 years ago:

it's ruined lunchtime for me.

moo-core  said about 2 years ago:

No way, the Scum quiz is lame, though it's a bit harsh criticising them now. At least they HAVE a general knowledge quiz.

sister  said about 2 years ago:

no quiz? I was using it to rebuild my soft brain. write and complain bitterly septor. If enough people raise hue and cry they'll bring it back.

september  said about 2 years ago:

i don't like your reasoning sister. it doesn't explain mia freedman but that is a whole other topic.

cameron diaz and mike myers are the answers to the questions in the opening post by the way.

sting-bono  said about 2 years ago:

why would they get rid of the quiz? i'm puzzled.

eh... i'll be here all night, try the veal...

moo-core  said about 2 years ago:

Quiz is still there, but it's been modified to become a quiz on the weeks news (or something like that). Lame.

CryMeARiver  said about 2 years ago:

My workplace send a barrage of emails of complaint, the Superquiz was a daily event that a lot of us all looked forward to. Sad? Maybe, but we enjoyed it. The new thing is a fucking joke.

CryMeARiver  said about 2 years ago:

'sent', see...i'm stupider already!

People in the cafe at uni yesterday were furious about this. They've made a big mistake.

actually make that 2 cats. we stole another cat over the easter holidays. we didn't so much as steal her but we only door knocked on the street we found her in. then we went on holidays to metung which is near lakes entrance in case you are wondering. we had that cat for 4 days. when we got back a girl from school knocked on our door and said, 'have you seen our cat?' and i said, 'yeah, she's right here.' we didn't tell her we took her cat out of town.

Block  said about 2 years ago:

One of snowwhite's cats got stolen once. Ended up in Dandenong.

september  said about 2 years ago:

well there you go. pet thievery is very common. i still reckon the age should have gone with cat burgler.

LoadMyRig  said about 2 years ago:

poor pussywillow.

Block  said about 2 years ago:

Or cat burglar, even

september  said about 2 years ago:

well maybe that is why they went with cat thief, block. maybe the quiz question askerer was in the office compiling the quiz and said, 'hey, how do you spell burglar? is it A R or E R? look, don't worry. i will just put cat thief. no one is going to get a bee in their bonnet over that.'

Block  said about 2 years ago:

Lucky they didn't go with ''cat theif''.

Throw the other questions up here, I can't be bothered either working or paying the money.

what is the name of manuel's pet siberian hamster in the tv show falty towers?

Peter  said about 2 years ago:

Basil!

september  said about 2 years ago:

peter, correct.

that's the only other question i can remember. i can't get the paper and type out the others without arousing the suspicions of the co worker sitting in the cubicle behind me.

Cooperative Music  said about 1 year ago:

Shit, today's is easily the hardest Age quiz I have ever encountered.

charlesincharge  said about 1 year ago:

hit us up with some q's.

KevinArnold  said about 1 year ago:

you know what i hate?

when new people join the work quiz and they are all meek and reserved whilst i showboat around like James Brown in a white body suit and then they comprehensively smash all the questions and pretend like its a fluke and that they ''just had a good day''. And you just know the smug old bitch is going to leave you no option but to Tonia Harding her Nancy Kerrigan arse.

Bitch.

september  said about 1 year ago:

did you get the 6 pointer today, kevinarnold?

KevinArnold  said about 1 year ago:

no. i don't want to talk about it.

september  said about 1 year ago:

maybe poprocks did. she reckons she gets it on the six points all the time.

Block  said about 1 year ago:

A 6-pointer? In the Age quiz?

KevinArnold  said about 1 year ago:

poprocks lies. there's many 63 yr old footballers.

i got JD Salinger the other day though on the 6. like taking candy off a baby

moo-core  said about 1 year ago:

Fuck, I know. Yesterday's quiz was really, really hard.
