anyway ..so this is a normal thread, and I hope Kristy isn't angry with me..

so tommorrow I am picking up not one but TWO new organs..that will make 4 organs that I have..can you believe it? 4 organs? I find it hard to believe. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever have thought I would have 4 organs..

anyway tommorrow I am picking up a yamaha 80's job..for free but the real special one is the Estey organ I found that I am getting (i have been paying it off, even though its not too expensive) The Estey is a 1920's i think) reed organ, so its a real organ...its so beautiful, I am going to record with it..

if anyone is into organs please chat about them..and if anyone knows much about Estey organs info would be good. I know they have a museum in the USA in Vermont where they came from..but little else..

angelic_layer  said about 5 years ago:

I just got the estey home
it was built between 1902 and 1904. Its over one hundred years old.

angelic_layer  said about 5 years ago:

both organs home and in their spots..

the estey got a clean...and polish

gee its pretty, its got little art nouveau motives...

angelic_layer  said about 5 years ago:

further checks have narrowed the date down to 1903.

Um.. is there need for a thread? You are just talking to yourself.

angelic_layer  said about 5 years ago:

well I dunno..maybe someone would like to contribute..maybe not..anyway..it'll fall into the pit if nobody wants to talk about organs..

Gordon  said about 5 years ago:

Alright. I'll speak. I've never heard of estey's but it sounds like a good buy. My Girlfriend's Dad has a Hammond he is going to give me. The problem being it doesn't work at the moment. I'm not very skilled with keys but still love the sound of organs so hopefully I can get this one working.

angelic_layer  said about 5 years ago:

hmm yeah a hammond would be nice..mine are kitchy..interestingly enough I got my first one from my in-laws..its all a bit of ironic this organ thing...

Benji  said about 5 years ago:

My Roland emulates nice 100 year old organs, but I bet it doesn't sound or smell anywhere near as nice as yer estey.

angelic_layer  said about 5 years ago:

prolly..
but the estey is an Antique..and so needs this and that. My wife is going to restore it. (when she gets time, its a project) I might use it for something, but really I got it for its historical value, It came out of a local Church, and so I saved it. People restore them all over the world..they are collectors items..

yeah..roland is the go..for a working organ...
