He's peaked at Melbourne as a player and was clearly unwilling to do the hard work to improve. If Bailey can knock some sense into Colin Sylvia but not McLean then there is something wrong with McLean. Also, it opens up another starting midfield slot which I think pretty much locks in Scully, Trengrove and then we use pick 11 for the best key position player.

it will be interesting to see if teams actually trade this year, this always seems like such a letdown at the end. i can't see hawthorn being able to get both gibson and burgoyne.

I'm so sick of the umpiring this year. I know they're meant to protect players from high contact but what chance does a tackling player have if people just duck every time they're about to get tackled? It was bad enough when tackling from behind became a push in the back and players were falling forward just as they got tackled. And still I wish they'd copy soccer with the advantage rule. Don't blow the whistle for the free until there is no advantage. Offending teams always get screwed because if they play on it's fifty, if they stop the other team keeps playing.
