toadphoney  said about 2 years ago:

You mean they're touring 90210.

cheezel  said about 2 years ago:

jasmine-this is a new thread for a new tour.

cheers.

Tramdriver  said about 2 years ago:

Yeah chill-out jasmine- it's all gravy.

rosie  said about 2 years ago:

said this in the other thread, but i'm totally in for more.
if anyone gets the presales password can they post it here, thanks :)

Gorn  said about 2 years ago:

Play Northcote Social Club again please.

Lozenge  said about 2 years ago:

Please don't

__v  said about 2 years ago:

Last show was fucking great but that was enough for me.

Especially seeing as there's no prospect of hearing cool & unexpected Bossanova / Trompe le Monde songs.

If they had a new record I'd be very much up for it, but this feels a little musty.

louis  said about 2 years ago:

i second rosie's request for the presales password if anyone has it.

thanks!

silvertone  said about 2 years ago:

I don't think there is a password for the Sydney Ticketek presale, it's just internet only, no phone or store sales...

MY TICKETEK INTERNET PRE-SALE
Pre-sale starts : Wed 16 Sep, noon
Pre-sale ends* : Thu 17 Sep, 5pm
General public on sale : Fri 18 Sep, 2pm

silvertone  said about 2 years ago:

Oh and Ticketek have the wrong day for the Sydney show, they're saying it's Saturday the 14th March, but the Coppel website says Sunday 14th...

JunkiePhil  said about 2 years ago:

Post pre sale if you gets it.
I'm not going to go unless I get front row again.

jasmine.po  said about 2 years ago:

Yeah chill-out jasmine- it's all gravy.

Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like I was being narky! I was just providing the link in case Cheezel wanted to read what had already been discussed about the tour.

mrmagoo  said about 2 years ago:

so far all Pixies presale info regarding passwords has been going out over Facebook (go and 'become a fan' of Pixies), this is for the US dates so far

looking at the Coppel site, doesn't look there will be passwords here at this stage

Texaco  said about 2 years ago:

thanks for the tip mrmagoo.

mrmagoo  said about 2 years ago:

Sydney fanclub presale on at 3pm today

http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=PIXIESFC10

password DOOLITTLE

louis  said about 2 years ago:

and now all we need is the password for the m-town show, which i guess would be different because it's ticketmaster, not ticketek.

JunkiePhil  said about 2 years ago:

So Melbs is on sale today at 3PM?

louis  said about 2 years ago:

that would be two days earlier than their website says.

he's into the bikram yoga these days. it must be working.

Bikram yoga works wonders in a really short amount of time. Apparently you loose inches almost instantly.

ill  said about 1 year ago:

yes, you loose inches.

__v said 3 hours ago: what a killer setlist - great bunch of bossanova stuff, they didn't play any when i saw them

Yeah, they were definite highlights, Velouria was awesome!

Here's some nice video's from the show...

Capacity supposedly 400-500, but I think there was probably only about 300 people there when they came on. I think they probably kept a big guest list for other Splendour bands...

rosie  said about 1 year ago:

i'm jealous

Butcher Birds  said about 1 year ago:

you should be!!! i saw them at the convention centre and it was SO much better. they were really engaging and it sounded real aggro

webcuts  said about 1 year ago:

It was awesome being three from the front (I shot the video above, working on a review). A nice even breakdown across all albums (3 songs from Come on Pilgrim, 7 from Surfer Rosa, 7 from Doolittle, 6 from Bossanova, 4 from Planet of Sound and 1 B-side (''Winterlong'')). Apparently their Splendour set (which I assume was the same) was good too.

switchbladesisters  said about 1 year ago:

Did Richard Ashcroft go? I heard he likes them heaps.

Butcher Birds  said about 1 year ago:

was so happy to see some COP and SR stuff, my favs.

great video, although i hate watching people watching bands on cameras. too much of that these days. would be great to have that reviewing though

webcuts  said about 1 year ago:

No Ashcroft that I could see. He'd probably would've been annoyed that there were more in attendance there than watching him at Splendour.

webcuts  said about 1 year ago:

Yes, I just wanted to capture a feel of the gig (Velouria was cut short when some guy ran and pushed in) but it was a reasonably mellow crowd.

Butcher Birds  said about 1 year ago:

people kept dancing on me urgh

NiteShok  said about 1 year ago:

Gosh they were boring at Splendour. I like them at all, but there was absolutely no heart in their performance. Left after 45 minutes.

NiteShok  said about 1 year ago:

Er - should read I like them and all

Cooperative Music  said about 1 year ago:

Yeah, glad the Zoo sounded good, 'cos Splendour was not a vintage performance.
It's the 6th time I've seen them play and that's the first time I've seen them actually fuck up a song like they fucked up ''Velouria''. I didn't think Joey made mistakes, but he's human after all,

mud  said about 1 year ago:

So at Splendour, the video screen never once (that I saw) cut to Kim the whole show. Anyone know what the deal there is?

We were discussing this and it really weirded me out. I'd like to know what the hell that was all about.

NiteShok  said about 1 year ago:

Hey mud, I was thinking the same thing. I didn't see any footage of Kim at all, and she was positioned out of line with the other two so that she wouldn't get caught in any wide shots.

It added another level of soullessness to an already dull performance.

Storytime: I heard second-hand that, for The Zoo show, the band - who already travel in pairs, never together - demanded separate dressing rooms. So two took The Zoo's backstage area, and the other two were put up in the nearby Q Music office. Kellie Lloyd (of Screamfeeder/Q Music) was their backstage manager.

Butcher Birds  said about 1 year ago:

i was told this was LIES

webcuts  said about 1 year ago:

My review of The Zoo show with video/pic/setlist is up.

OAAD  said about 1 year ago:

Festival hall show was #2 best gig I saw in 2010
