Sunday 11 November
i just remember going to this and having to make a choice between two good bands that were on at the same time. now you're lucky if there's one good band on over the course of the whole day.

yeah, I'm with aloha - tell 'em not to bother.
Suggested thingo to do after the Newtown Festival:
John Columbus residency at Hopetoun. Starts 6pm. Fergus Brown then Sui Zhen then John Columbus. $6. Yay.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You don't like Sui Zhen Anne?
certainly sounds that way
Isn't Sui Zhen the USyd student magazine?
Are you thinking of Honi Soit buttons?
hahaha yes! Not sure why/how I thought it was Sui Zhen.
I do not, goldfoot.
Because they're both boring?
This is Sui Zhen. Might be a bit twee for some folks but I dig.
I haven''t had encounters with either, but the UTS one is quite the funny.
Yeah, okay, so it wasn't that special, but I still had a good day getting pushed around by crowds and sipping from coconuts with tinyman.
Great Apes was the only band we caught - I really liked it! I've done door for them twice but had never caught the spectacle in the (stuffed-y-front) flesh. Probably not quite the right atmosphere for them, though.
I found a gift for LucyDiamond and bought the same awesome salt and pepper shakers Block has - the black and white men hugging! We couldn't relocate the cheap record stall, though, so just gave up.
I suppose that should be 're-locate', in that we were unable to locate it once we'd left it, not that we were trying to move it.
Yeah.
Pretty shit festival for me. Hardly any good free stuff like Surry Hills Fest.
But megastick fanfare were totally sweet in a blatantly ripping off Animal Collective kinda way. Highly reccomend.
Sucks living a street away from it. I wanna nap now but I can still hear everything/one
Walking home on king St last night coming home from a gig was ugly. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't had a drink in a couple of weeks. It sure didn't make me want to have a drink at all.
we spent a total of 30 min in the actual festy- only saw The Bakery -they had a giant crowd! So proud of 'em.. everyone was dancing!
..bought food on the way out and spent the rest of the afternoon on Mary St on the longnecks..mmm
Stuffed Y-front? That's the most scathing comment they've ever had!
I heard a store holder complained to the organisers that it wasn't 'Family entertainment'
I was standing quite some distance from the stage, so I could be mistaken, MrM!
A lot of people didn't really know how to take them. Was hilarious.
Oh, they're great! One of them was in one of my tutes this semester; I didn't realise until I doored for them, and neither of us could place the other until after about 2 hours of discreet staring.
I missed it this year, but it would seem it's all gone down hill since they fenced it. Would you guys agree?
